Was Pav talking about this during the match when he said it would have happened sooner but Walters got too sore for it?

hmm don't recall him saying that.

Though that would make sense as midfield is generally more demanding. However, its only going through the 'soreness' one gets used to it and moving him during our GF tilt would have made a massive difference. On paper a midfield with Fyfe-Mundy-Barlow-Neale is great but some like Walters would have been better switched with Mundy to be more effective.

No. Go back, watch the games and read the forums. You know nothing.

And Suban can't kick on his right? Good thing he's a left footer then isn't it. As for those others, they couldn't kick left or right.

If the players you named weren't flogs, they'd have gotten a new contracts.
Geez you're an imbecile. As if an ignoramus wasn't enough. Don't think there's anyone on BF with as little knowledge as you. Ffs.

Way to deflect from the argument. So Barlow didn't finish top 5. I make stuff up like you. You're obviously in the FFC inner circle. Pompous , arrogant fool. I can't reason with stupidity.

By the end of 2015, our midfield was being left behind due to many of them being average users of the ball. Barlow, while being a good footballer, was a victim of that. He started butchering the ball towards the end, the same as Pearce, who I agree was a good kick early on, but not at the end.

DeBoer, Pearce, Mzungu, Barlow were role players in Ross's game plan. They were all taken outside the draft because they weren't high end talent. They all had different strengths athletically, but they all had poor disposal in common by the time they were delisted.

Most of our mids still have poor disposal. Actually the last few Brownlow medallists have poor disposal. Barlow's handballing wasn't poor. Wish we still had someone in the centre with his quick hands and decision-making.

This is interesting I think. Up until this year I would have sworn black and blue that Adelaide can't kick and that is what was holding them back. In the first 6 weeks they had a team full of Darren Jarmens. Obviously they didn't all improve out of sight over the off-season so what is it?

I truly believe that once the players know their teammates and gameplan inside out, the skills come together. Crows players have said in the media how having a settled line up helped them. Obviously it is not going so swimmingly now, but I think the point is still valid.

What I think will happen is at some point the gameplan will click and then suddenly all of our scrubber kickers will suddenly look 100% better. Same thing I think will happen at the pies.

Bloody Ross Lyon. Too risk averse. Wouldn't even play a first game player out of position to win the game off his own boot. Doesn't play youth. Can't build a side.

Lol.

Just lol.
Lol indeed.

Might have worked out today, but how many 4 goal hauls do you think lock down medium defender Ryan Nyhuis will kick in his career? Just because we got lucky doesn't make it a good decision. That's just variance cobber.

You know the role Ross told him to play?? It was a defensive role. So please don't think of Ross as a genius who thought he would score a single goal today.

Forced to play youth and today we saw Ross nearly lose a game against a team that is a basket case because he went defensive.

Oh you mean the role that was dribbled to the media prior to the game where Nyhuis played an entirely attacking roll and didn't try and shut down at all??

More likely that the rookie disobed orders and did his own thing against the bosses wishes on his first game or that the role was probably a red herring to begin with you reckon??

Just in case, I'm not suggesting Ross planned for Nyhuis to kick 4 and be the match winner. No way he was sent out there in a purely defensive roll trying to shut down and not kick goals though. He was attacking from the first entry.

Melt at myself ,

Converted to Ross Lyonisms.

Ffs, Ross has only stayed playing the youth lately, ie the last 12 months. Prior to this he stuck fastidiously to the lesser talented role players, see 2015 and the first half of 2016, to the determinant of our younger talent.
As I have mentioned before on this board, Ross is a good coach and a very good leader of young men. He is however, way too conservative in developing/blooding young players, unlike Sydney, Hawthorn, Geelong, GWS etc. Lol.

GWS had no other choice,;) Hawthorn really:rolleyes: Geelong, Dangerfield is hardly a development player. And the etc's are?o_O

Killed Viv Michie's career. And the detriment to our younger talent in Blakely and Weller is evident.

It is an interesting comparison actually. Mainly in that I think a lot of it is Adelaide always had the skills in the back half, but this year is about them really sorting their mids. Brad and Matt Crouch aren't great by foot (Matt actually has a resonable off-foot though) but are getting better. And getting rid of an absolute slug in Scotty Thompson seems to have made a difference there. Yeah he played on Friday but it just illustrated how much better they look with a bit of pace in there and not Scott Thompson.
