Clearly he didn't watch the game because Tabs kicked at least 2 of his goals from contested marks and took a third in that video which resulted in another shot on goal for Peel.

You're beginning to sound a little deranged again.
Are you hallucinating that I said he didn't take any contested marks?

I'd say one of the biggest things Tabs needs to improve is his mental application across the whole game.
Does seem to phase out.I think he must be getting close to make or break. If he'd strung together a couple of game like his one against Essendon where he did appear to be switched on from start to finish he'd have more heavenly credits with the match committee.Like I said I believe they are trying to develop him to reach his best because they believe it's good enough.

Ok but what he said wasn't untrue. I also saw Tabs taking uncontested marks and I saw him take contested ones as well.

Yeah. He only mentioned the uncontested ones though.

Because he's full of shit.

If there was no video he'd be swearing black and blue right now that all his goals were Joe the gooses and he didn't have an opponent all game. That's what he's like.

I don't agree with you. I never got that impression from his post.

Maybe you are overreacting because of some of the other less reasonable posts. Maybe

As I said you're beginning to sound as though a condition or something is kicking in or the meds are wearing thin.
The contested marks are there for all to see on the highlights package. They are a matter of public record for all whether at the game or not.
My post was in response to aussieviking asked salim specifically for the areas of his game the match committee may be wanting him to improve, from someone who was at the game.
Do you know what area of his game he was wanting him to improve.? It is always difficult when you aren't at the game. Scores can be deceptive. I would like your opinion
As I made clear in my post the reasons were my best guess.
Please continue in a deranged manner over this for several days.

He was pretty much the reason we beat Essendon this year so again another bunch of bullshit.
Watch Tabs sparkles vid on AFL site. Essendons defense is clearly in disarray all day. He marks on a different opponent almost every highlight. It was a decent game against a poor team rebuilding though ill give you that. in saying that he wasnt BOG and he didnt really drag us anywhere. his goals were dotted through out the game and essendon clearly ran out of legs

You mean when we played with a some forward structure and an actual KPF we kicked our highest score for the season. Say it ain't so. ;)

Not to mention we came back from 6 goals down to win...something that only happens when you have a potent forward line....with actual KPFs.

That's what happens when you play a proper forward structure. Defenders have to make decisions as to who to go to.

That actually means they were rotating players until someone could beat him - which is credit to Taberner. Do you think the other day Hawthorn's defense was cooked and horrible? No credit to the better player in Dangerfield just dominating? I'd rate Essendon's defense - who is a team tracking better than Hawthorn's higher also.

Isn't that the game that was even until 3QTR time then we ran away with it in the last? Hardly a team that was in disarray all day.

So Ross played a proper forward structure until it stopped working because a central piece of it (Tabs) stopped producing?

It stopped working because we played 3 games in a row in torrential rain. All 3 of our tall forwards stopped producing. Tabs was the only one who got dropped.

Crozier - McCarthy - Grey
Walters - Taberner - Kersten

Essendons defenders with Hooker playing forward were Hurley, Hartley and at times Taberner was matched up by the much shorter Matt Dea who he took some of his contested marks over.

Hurley is one of the best key defenders in the competition so I'm not sure what your point is.

Again the fact that Tabs was sometimes matched on a shorter opponent is 100% because we played a proper forward structure with 3 key forwards.

This week we won't ever have a good matchup like that because we're only playing McCarthy and Kersten.

That does show the benefit of having a taller forward, does it not?

If you check my posting history I've always been a Tabs supporter.

I've never questioned whether you were or weren't. My post was directed at ydraw because I thought he was seeing things in your remarks that weren't really there. I thought your post on the Peel games wasn't unreasonable and I said so.

I think he took at as a sledge when i didn't see it that way....if you take my point

The why of no Tabs is interesting. Maybe its some sort of advanced stats thing at WAFL level that we arent taking into account. Tabs has never passed the eye test for me but yeah 11 goals in 2 WAFL games will historically get you a game. the anti Tabs and the pro tabs are both just dancing around the real answer i feel.

What do you see is the real issue?

Not a shot, genuine question.

They've pretty much said why. Taberner even said so himself in his interview after the Peel game on the weekend. It's because his ruckwork isn't up to AFL standard.

As to why he can't be considered just as a forward - that's something only Ross Lyon knows.
