Hawks were not stacked with top draft talent, there was enough, but it was more the fact of trading, identifying what was required and ensuring success.
Hale, Gunstan, Burgoyne, Lake, Gibson.

They also had an even spread of talent, they had a defence, midfield and forward line that were all capable, most teams are only mostly there - including us in our contending years when we were slightly deficient in the forward line.

I've been a supporter of Ross since he started, but as the saying goes "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results".
Regardless of the age of the team, we always let the Hawks play the game on their terms...WHY!!!
