I'm used to see the derby's the eagles win or the Eagles winning some game in a last quarter thriller but come home today and the 'classic match' is 1998, round 2, Fremantle vs Adelaide.

Is there any significance to that game (apart from Freo losing) I don't remember?

Cause if not we're left with Adelaide smashing Freo by 93 points, 167-74

When was the last time channel 7 showed a 'classic match' where the Eagles badly lost a regular season game to an interstate side?

Take out the conspiracy theory of Channel Eagle and it just seems like really odd choice to show in WA as a classic match.

However... if D Pearce is named come Rnd1 you have no idea how hard and how loud I will melt. Richmond fans will look like choir boys in comparison.

There simply isn't much point in playing D Pearce in these games, they all come at the expense of the younger brigade. Pearce should play the majority of the season at Peel. I don't mind us starting the season with an experienced team in order to give us the best start possible. D Pearce doesn't in any way help the side at AFL level. If he plays round 1 it will be an incredibly disappointing start to the year.

Seems according to Ross that JLT selection is purely training form based. If that is the case then I can somewhat live with DP getting a look in. He is a good trainer.

I am so sick of hearing the same thing about Brayshaw. It's the worst back handed compliment I have heard in footy, and it gets trudged out ever time he is spoken about.
