The melt thread needs to work like the recycle bin on your computer.

Fills up with a bunch of shit that you don't want, and gets periodically wiped back to a clean slate. A therapeutic black hole to vent and yell at the world where nobody tries to rationalise how you feel

Having the melting stick around is like never cleaning your toilet - eventually there is so much shit caked on the bowl that everyone that passes by can't help but get sick Just. Flush.

I have no doubt the sustained success list model had great intentions. Unfortunately we tried to do it during the introduction of GC and GWS when most of the decent players were gone from the draft before we got a swing. We compounded this by making some very poor choices with the picks we did have and missed some players who should have been no brainers like Darling and J Gov. I think we also underestimated how hard it was going to be to attract high profile free agents to play in WA although this may have been a blessing in disguise.
So after 2013 when we should have been gradually replacing older players with young ones coming through we had no one decent, I mean Sheridan & Crozier were the great hopes for the future.
The result? We were back to the end of around 2008 at the end of last year and now we suck again.

I also find it interesting that Collingwood players and coaches have lately been spouting the same lines we heard out of Richmond players - that the club has changed and become a place where players want to be. The "its fun to come to work again" line.
No doubt this will become the new mantra of other clubs continually playing catchup, I await with baited breath till one of our players says it.

I thought the club essentially got all their drafting out of the way before the GWS and GC concessions came into effect. We had sustained success during this period of concessions. I think sustained success means placing yourself in the top 4 for a number of years with the premise that by doing this it is your best chance of a flag. With the concessions and lower draft picks due to ladder position it was nigh on impossible to maintain the premium age profile.

Us bottoming out now is the right time to do it. GWS look like becoming a super team roided out with talent. Their decimation by injury glosses over the fear that they are capable of winning the next 3 premierships. By the time we challenge again their starting advantage will have been tempered.

More questions than answers. Really feels like we have hit rock bottom with injuries, and the fact that
Langdon is the only player to show massive improvement.
I don't think the club can wait two years on a maybe, get on the front foot now for next year and make
serious change.
Instead the club will use Free Agency, etc, to sell memberships nothing to see here move on.
It is ridiculous to see WC players come back from injury when we are suppose to have state of the art.
If they haven't learnt anything from Tigers, Pies, and we stay the same off the field then we deserve
what happens next.

Drives me bonkers. I don't understand how people manage to get crap around the rim, almost on the seat, above where the water flushes. Does it bounce? Are they squatting? Do they stand and bomb? Was in Thailand in April and trying to work out how at least one person had managed to get poo over three walls with a small portion on the ceiling. The detol hand wash got used up after getting out of there.

Coming back on Emirates to Dubai in May (yes been travelling a lot recently) and wearing socks on the 14h flight so had to put wads of paper on the soaking floor around the toilet. Had turbulence most of the flight and imagine that a few squatters prior to me had spread it around the cubicle. Fun times dealing with that after 10+h in the air.
