You serious ?How do we know Greenwood's in our best 22 again?
Would be awesome against the Hawks:
FB: Toovey Brown Reid
HB: Williams Frost Langdon
R: Grundy Adams Pendles
M: Rusty Greenwood Crisp
HF: Varcoe Cloke Elliott
FF: Fasolo White Blair
B: Swan Oxley Broomhead
S: Scharenberg
I haven't seen much of greenwood. but Adams is arguably the best handballer in the game, and Crisp I have seen no reason to believe that he is a poor kick I'm not certain how you come to the " poor disposal theory " on the other side of your theory however that having 3 in the same time would obviously not work but having 2 in at centre clearances then with a clean user of the ball. one of Steele or pendles is a must. I dare say that Da Goey will continue getting games until greenwood is fit and then we will send the kid back for a rest to the two'sSo when Levi is good to go I'm certain he is in our 22. But, when he is, we will have Adams, Crisp and Levi all playing inside mid roles. That's absolutely 1 too many considering all of their disposal is only ok at best. Adams' is downright bad. Can we have 3 inside mids with average disposal all in our centre square? Does Crisp move to half back or forward?
It doesn't look good having only pendles and sidebottom as elite users, lets all cut the sh*t, Swannys disposal is appalling too.
You serious ?
Is easily in our best 10 champ.Yes.
i only said adams disposal was poor and his season efficiency is 59% so that backs my theory up. he may be a good handballer but bigfooty has been discussing his poor kicking for 2 years so it shoudnt be a surprise. crisp and greenwood can definitely kick but they are average across the AFL at best, i would put them both below average for midfielders. my point is, we need efficient kicks coming out of the middle and imo we need more than 1 of pendles or steele. you really need 2-3 good users in there at all timesI haven't seen much of greenwood. but Adams is arguably the best handballer in the game, and Crisp I have seen no reason to believe that he is a poor kick I'm not certain how you come to the " poor disposal theory " on the other side of your theory however that having 3 in the same time would obviously not work but having 2 in at centre clearances then with a clean user of the ball. one of Steele or pendles is a must. Definitely can fit all three in the same side. I think Crisp will end up settling on the wing anyway, given his mix of speed and endurance, and our other options on the inside.
Regardless, we need 6 players who go through the centre square anyway, they will all get centre square minutes in each game they play in there.
YES we can rotate like crazy our large selection of Midfielders and rest off half back/half forward to ensure we are always having plenty of grunt in the middle.Rotations anybody?![]()
Agree with this.
Crisp on one wing and Sidebottom on the other.
Pendlebury Adams and Greenwood starting in the middle.
Swan plays a half forward role but rotates through with Pendles.
Agree, or Swan starts on the bench and rotates on at the first change.
With rotations these days you need to have a rotating midfield team on the bench as good as the one in the middle.
I'd suggest that dominating a quarter in VFL with 18 possessions in his first game in months puts him ahead of at least Broomy, BK & DeGoey as to my limited knowledge none of them has been as dominate at that level. How do we know Greenwood's in our best 22 again?
Because we are paying him $480 a year for the next four years... We wouldn't have done this if we weren't pretty sure..
did we recruit him to play on the ball in the 2's?
Quinten Lynch and Clinton Young made themselves comfortable there.
What's stopping Greenwood from joining the list of "could have beens" running around victoria park ?
I understand I'm just being a devils advocate but it seems like unadulterated optimism that is keeping Greenwood in our best 22, You just need to look back over the last 2 or 3 years to see players with similar promise who have made the VFL their home!
