It's a very reasonable question. I would be very reluctant to carry 3 mids with poor footskills on top of Swan. It would kill us. That said, I reserve judgement on Greenwood. I am neither convinced he's best 22 or that he can't kick until I see him play a string of games for us. As for Crisp, I am not sure the reports on his kicking were that accurate. He's definitely not in the Adams category.

I think people need to stop with this theory (rubbish) that Crisp has below average disposal.

Use your eyes.

He's now played 11 games for us and is clearly a good to very good kick. He's better than most in our team and better than league average.

Crisp might of been not the best kick BUT he is NOT now :)

With Greenwood and Reid in the side an a fit list, I think we can push for a flag this year! The improvement coming from Williams, Oxley, Elliot, Fas, and pressure on Blair, Goldy, Toovs to keep performing, combined with the wins we have already racked up, sets us up for a big second half.

Crisp can probably play more positions than Greenwood or Adams but it doesn't mean he should. He is our second best Mid this year so far.

Crisp, Pendles, Swan, Sidey, Broomy, Kennedy rotating through the forwardline, wing and midfield with Adams and Greenwood spending most time in the guts with stints on the bench.

And i'd also welcome more players who can play mid into that rotation, you really need at least 8+ who can rotate through.

I think Greenwood once fit will look to take some Midfield time from Swanny. Swanny can be a damaging forward option and rotate through the midfield where necessary in bursts.

Blair has been used occasionally through the midfield as well this year, I would expect his time to disappear with Greenwood.

I think we are probably lacking some real burst speed in the midfield at the moment. Someone like Dangerfield would be awesome, but equally I could see Freeman filling this type of role in the future.

Well, OK, I'll give it a crack, but I'm in my fifties now, so I don't know how long I could go for.

As it stands at the moment, Crispy is getting a lot of his own ball.
Imagine him on a HBF or wing and Levi or Taylor getting it out to him for the long roost to Cloke.
If Seedy is injured, (which I think is the case) then that's a logical for mine.

Why would you move Crisp out to the wing .. At the moment Crisp is our best mid and clearance player his also up there for tackles and kicks a goal every game .. I say don't try and fix something that's not broken ..

Not suggesting he will play 2's with us.

But we have fizzed at the bum with excitement over players
with sound reputations in the past and have been burned.

I think you're mistaking the fizz of a rabid few for how the majority perceive recruits like Lynch, Young, Armstrong, Russell and White. Greenwood hopefully doesn't another member of that group.

I think Greenwood and Adams are your 'seek and destroy' mids that rotate off the bench quite often.
Crispy may well play several different roles eventually, including on-ball, wing, half-back...

Kind of like having Luke Ball and Scotty Burns out there (Adams,Greenwood)
Hoping Crisp can be our Mundy in a year or so.

We are going to be a hard unit with another 30 games into this team!

I think that's optimistic (nothing wrong with that though). But lets remember we haven't played any contenders yet. If we take 2 wins from Fremantle, Hawthorn, Sydney, West Coast then we could call ourselves contenders, but unitl we do that we are still a second tier chance.

We were belted in the middle by Melbourne just last week without Adams which indicated a lack of depth in the middle. Imagine if we had had both Greenwood and Adams playing in the guts, perhaps Melbourne wouldn't have got those two run-ons.

I like these words. They are definitely words I like.

Swan has never been a good kick and Ball was at best on par with Adams and Greenwood, probably worse in reality. We had those two running through the guts at all times in our premiership side and we rotated other players through like Pendles, Steele, Wellers, etc who added something else. Didak was a diamond and added something none of our current players do, but very few teams boast that kind of player on his level. None of the current contenders do.

I think Freeman will be really important going forward as a good mix of inside grunt, speed and solid disposal. We just have to get the kid fit!
