Can you explain why Mitchell is not part of the aged , slow, little defensive effort side problem at Tbe Eagles midfield ? What has been the upside to his signing

Categorically disagree with that. Shows more defensively than half our side. Never seen him give up on a contest. Contests marks, spoils, chases, tackles, scrambles at the goal line. Knows what his job is but unlike others has no "oh I don't do that" side to his game.

This year I have felt both spoiled to witness and bad for him at the same time watching half of the stuff he does in a game to help us not lose while others won't or just pretend to. ******* damning it has been. IMO we have a big problem with desire.

He is while priddis is in the side. We can't afford both of them in the same side.

However Mitchell genuinely makes up for his lack of leg speed with other qualities including good evasive skills, excellent kicking and good decision making as well as leadership and toughness.

It's no surprise hawthorn are struggling without him.

He's also reasonably quick over the first few metres which is good.

I see Mitchell as faster because he actually gets to top gear. Priddis never sprints. I thought they had a run in pre-season and one of the coaches beat them?

They're struggling due to letting a list get stale Eagles not in dissimilar situation . Big difference of course is they have 3 flags to show for it , well worth the cost now being incurred.
Think of where Hawthorn where , the players it allowed them to access before GWS and GC got so many concessions . One of the last bottom clubs to get real access to top talent .
Freo banked in its ageing list to grab a flag but missed, the cliff face soon emerges afterwards

This is crap, the last draft where the Hawks had a decent amount of high picks and actually got some serious top end talent was the Buddy draft in 2004, six years before Gold Coast were able to participate in the national draft.

Priddis' 20m time was 3.4
Mitchells was 3.04

The fastest ever is 2.75.

Mitchell is considered to be slow and he is .19 of a second off the fastest time ever.

Priddis is .65 of a second off

People dont really get how fn slow he is - my wife is 38 - has a liz franc and can run 20m in 3.2. She hasnt played any sport in 12 years.

He is seriously the slowest player in the game.

May as well give up on WC for the next few years
Yeah, nah, can't see myself doing that.

If I can't support them during their absolute worst, then I don't deserve them during their absolute best (whenever that may be)

Enjoy your time away, if you decide that is your best course of action.

So being able to grab Franklin , Roughead and Lewis all inside the first 10 due to Hawthorns poor precious seasons did not make a huge contribution to later success , interesting .

It is 5 years to GWS , six to GC .

So your players snared top 10 peaking when they entered , review players stats they support .

Clubs bottoming out from introduction of GWS and GC had very limited ability to top up like this such was the impact of their concessions granted .

You'd have to very very myopic to not get feel the impact of the new clubs on those who where floundering post their introduction .

Except Gold Coast was admitted to league first and then their first National draft year was in 2010 6 years after Hawthorns 2004 draft, first year playing was 2011
