The Morning After

Take a moment today to savour one of the truly great sensations of winning a flag...

That time between sleep and waking when you start to regain conciousness.

Then it hits that yesterday wasn’t a dream - it ****ing happened.

All is well in the world for at least that moment.

I can now remember the same sensation in 2006.

Right up there with the best feelings in the world!

It didn't sink in until a few hours after the siren yesterday. It's really sunk in this morning, and reading the Bigfooty Eagles board has been fun. Like I said to my mates yesterday, there's no feeling that quite meets that of when the final siren sounds. That's when it all comes out with no time to think about it.

Your team was fantastic and despite the media pumping up Collingwood as favourites you overcame a first quarter deficit and the demons of 2015 to play your best footy when it counted and overcome a desperate and galvanised Collingwood.

You beat us 3 out of 3 this year and FWIW I think you’d have beaten Richmond as well.

Was so tired after watching the game the level of anxiety was through the roof.

Sunk a couple of bottles of vino last night at home as I watched the replay.


Went to bed half cut had an amazing dream......... dreamt we won the Premiership.

Awesome day yesterday.

Watched all seven of our Grand Finals and the wins are so poignant after the ones that got away.

They are all good and the winning feeling doesn't get diluted because you have experienced it before each one is special and unique.

I feel very fortunate to have followed the Club from Day One and am one of the First Gamers who watched us come from behind to knock of Richmond.

Been an amazing ride and The West Coast Eagles have given me may, many enjoyable and memorable moments.

Woke up with a hell of a mess to clean up, but somehow dodged the hangover. What a weekend.

Was spent after the game so just went home and took it easy. Woke up this morning on a high, then, I have to admit, felt a little post gf hangover (even though I hadn't been drinking). No depressed per se, but just coming down from the high. Still rapt of course, and had my fill of footy, but gonna have to find more stuff to fill my uneventful weekends till next year lol. But won't be long at all until season 2019 and I dunno, actually feel a bit of the pressure has lifted as we have won in the back. Really hope we're hungry to go back to back, but don't feel overly greedy. Just be happy to maintain form and not drop off.
