Yep, Clint Eastwood is the all-time bad mutha-f***er.

He would've whooped all those 80s pussies put together. Not even MacGiver or Knight Rider would've been able to do nothing about it.

And as for Mr T;

Don't rouse my anger fool!

You have to admit that Face was pretty cool, though. As cool as Starbuck from Battlestar Galactica? That's too hard a call to make.

Everthing was cool until about 1984 - until things started to go pear-shaped.

Punk was on its way out, Elton John went soft, and Bowie was on the decline. Even Robert Plant went soft!

Along came Pseudo Echo, Kids in the Kitchen, the Thomson Twins, and all those other krap bands with that synthesizer sound. Just to top it off, breakdancing became popular.

For anyone who liked some of the heavier sounds, they had to listen to soft-****s like Van Halen, Foreigner, Poison, Europe and Bon Jovi - Hardly Metallica, Peppers or RATM

The fashions of the day were pastel colours and tight jeans. I cringe when I look back at any photos of myself/family/friends from the 80s.

At least when I look back at my photos from the 70s, I'm wearing a pair of cool-ar$e flairs, wide lapels, and a bad-ar$e hair cut. Unfortunately, I wasn't old enough to have a porn star moustache.
When talking soft ****, don't forget Autograph!

As for fashions, try these numbers on now:

  • Penguin Pants
  • Pastel Lemon/Pink V necked jumpers
  • Ciaks
  • Thin leather ties
  • Pastel coloured woollen ties cut square at the bottom
  • Faberge jeans
  • Stone / Acid wash jeans
  • Army jackets for bogans

Yes, as far as fashions go, the 80's certainly sucked!

I do remember having a few pairs of Ciaks when I was 13/14.

Fortunately, I wasn't bold enough to wear lemon/peach/pink v-neck woolen jumpers - but there were plenty about. I do recall a few people wearing pink Ciaks as well!

Great stuff! That my friends is why TigerTank won the prestigious BigFooty best poster award! :D

late 70's to early 80's is the time. Post Gary Glitter and pre Rick Astley.

The best various artists album was 'Full Boar'. Debbie Harry introduced me to music obsession with the 'Heart of Glass' video clip which later inspired me to buy all of her solo albums, even the weird-ass 'Koo Koo' with her face being pierced by nails on the front cover. Cheap Trick told me that the dream police came to me in my bed and lived inside of my head. Ian Drury and the Blockheads - "I want to be straight" and "Hit me with your rhythm stick" were the novelty songs of choice along with the Muppets "manamana". Love that clip! The Aliens knew it was time for a c-c-c-c-c-confrontation. The reckless Aussie Crawl boys light up. The Chisel lived on Cheap Wine. Rocky Burnette was Tired of Toein' the Line. AC/DC were Back in Black. The Vapours were turning japanese. Plastic Bertrand was a nutter. Nena had me pretending I could sing German with 99 Luftballons.

Could go on and on. Love it. I'm afraid I stuck in 1979. Damn it, why did Dulcify break down in the Melbourne Cup. Poor Brent Thomson. Jezza held the cup aloft in 79. Fitzpatrick did it in 81 and 82. A great time to be alive. How about Peter Brock at the peak of his Bathurst powers? The emergence of the Borg v McEnroe rivalry. My first real kiss was New Years Eve 1979. Wonder what happened to her? If you're out there Sharon (or was probably Shazza in those days), give me a call! ;)

Have to go and take a sedative. Bound to be more to come.

Damn right Coxon.
Porn actresses in the 90's hardly used cocaine either, compared to the 80's era.
