Broke out the dobro the other day, next thing my daughter actually asked me to put on "that Skynyrd band".

Oh yes.

Partridge, be proud you're raising that girl right.

I love me some Skynyrd, this one stuck in my head last night:

Turns out her favourite song (right now) is Poison Whisky. That's some fine taste!

Great tune! I have hope for humanity's future now.

How old is your budding Skynyrd fan?

10.

We've already established Deep Purple and the Kinks as staples.

As a father of triplets some of my fondest memories are the kids in the backseat singing Rocky Racoon and Bungalow Bill word perfect.so take it all in Partridge...great memories now they have grown up...

Seems I went a bit softer than you...lol

Fair point, the White Album needs to be included at some point (it's my favourite Beatles album).

I played Who's Next at a volume to wake the dead on the weekend. Pretty cool to sneak out of the room and see her head bobbing up and down furiously to Bargain.

I'm still in a bluesy mood, recently discovered Cephas & Wiggins. They keep the Piedmont blues sub-genre alive, and are fan-fugu-tastic:

Tracking down CDs as I type...

I agree with you; Cephas & Wiggins is an American acoustic blues duo consisting of John Cephas and harmonica guitarist Phil Wiggins. When I heard them, I couldn't stop listening. Their songs have deep meaning and are a lot of fun.

All y'all, I know there are a few metal fans here. Anybody else into Maximum The Hormone?

All I ask is that you watch it to the very end, this band has an awesome sense of humor.

My brother sent that link to me 3 years ago, it became my new favorite video ever.

Hard to find any MtH CDs in the States, though.

Was great to be back in the sun performing live music again on the weekend, at Bells Brewery too as an added bonus!

Have to admit the 'Take Me Back' title made me think of a Noiseworks cover but pleasantly surprised that it was not. So good to see local pubs etc open again.

Oh, how I love me some Hawkwind:

Painfully appropriate for the modern age:

I'm a digital citizen safe in my room
I've got my video to relieve the gloom
My mind's on a circuit with the nudes on the screen
Life's a no-go area it's so obscene
You can't do this, you can't do that
You can't go forward and you can't go back
You can't do this, you can't do that
You can't go forward and you can't go back
I'm a plugged-in person, I'm a TV fan
But there's so many things that I don't understand
Why do you want to steal our TV, it's not real
It's a viewing game
You can't do this, you can't do that
You can't go forward and you can't go back
You can't do this, you can't do that
You can't go forward and you can't go back
I'm a digital citizen safe in my room
