"As I look across the bay watching the beautiful sunset on this early Summer evening, while reading this week's letters and dedications to Kasey Kasem, I can't help but follow the breeze and drift away..."

Love your work James! :thumbsu:

It always gets me when Christopher Plumber sings this song and Julie Andrews joins him...

Me too!!! I'm still waiting for my Captain Von Trapp, to sweep me off my feet :(

Mine have all long gone except the first - Ringo. I decided to keep one for nostalgic reasons.
I still have the first record I ever bought - Rolling Stones Big Hits, High Tide, Green Grass - I still adore that album!

Did you see the doco, Amy? Saw it 2 weeks ago. Such an amazing talent, such a sad case
No, didn't see it Sttew. I'm very unfamiliar with Amy Winehouse, only know she was a fabulous singer, was with Russell Brand + died. allrighty introduced Winehouse to me very recently + am getting to know her music.

First thing I bought 31 yrs ago when I got my first decent pay, straight after our wedding, from Trevor Lees in Kew, (and we had nothing, zilch) was a good stereo system, PROTON/REGA. My annoyed wife thought I had very poor priorities, but I reassured her that if I could not play decent music on a decent system, we indeed had nothing.
I still use it to this day.
Any time Rabbi you want to play your vinyls if you're heading up to the Dandenongs...

31 years, only the speakers need rewiring, but a great system.

I had a
Technics SL-1200 Mk11 and I was thinking of upgrading to a Linn Sondek.
I remember the Rega Planar turn tables quite well. Steve Bennett used to sell them in Geelong years ago. Good value for money too.
I just have a CD player that is just about shot. I have an old Accuphase E-303 amp that drives a pair of Yamaha NS1000 speakers that I have had for around thirty years.
I would love to upgrade everything but I need to win Tatts just to buy a house to put it into.

What would be the average age of MMM listeners?
I know half those songs- you can bet which ones I don't know.
Not sure what the target demographic is to be honest, I mostly listen to MMM during footy season for the footy commentary.

Tom? Where the hell has Tom been?

Didn't listen to them but in memory:

Vale Scott Weiland.

One of my brother's favourite bands.
What happened to him-he can't have been very old? :(
Tom? Where the hell has Tom been?
Which Tom are you talking about VC-Big Tom?
He's been posting awesome music in here.

So come on and post a song too VC-we're doing a 'summer' theme atm, and you like the heat from memory.:thumbsu:

Welcome to my contribution

Mostly I love the film clip for this

Fun fact ... some of the weddings were staged, but there are a few that they genuinely did this too.. which would have been unreal
