The small market dilemma.
You have three years off Zion rookie contract to go. Need to spend some money on someone around that.

Kings declined to match on Bogdan squared. The poor get poorer.
This is true to an extant.
On the other hand I'm sure OKC maxing Westbrook or Washington maxing Wall sounded like a good idea at the time too. And those teams at least had some history of playoff success that they could point to. It's understandable when guys like Tatum, Mitchell and Adebayo get maxed to an extant because they've proved themselves in the playoffs. When lottery teams do it, it's a bigger gamble.
The nightmare situation is that the contract becomes an albatross that needs assets attached to it just to dispose of it.

As long as you don't go and max Ball next year. That would be silly.
Well he is now. Before extending Bam I would have said Miami were in the box seat for himI think you have to go with the odds. GA is less than 10% to go there.
I think Maradona did well to last this long!Slightly Off Topic, we lost Kobe at the start of the year, and now Maradona at the end (or thereabouts)
It's been a really ******* year in more ways than one.
