If you go back I was calling for Gordon and LaVine as 2/4 of my recommended dunk contested contestants back before the selections were made.
Just needed more Gerald Green and Larry Nance Jr and we'd have seen the 4 best dunkers in the NBA.
Gordon was great but LaVine was more my taste. I just love the style of those long jump dunks.
But that was a pretty good dunk contest.
I felt Gordon where doing Dunks that never seen before while LaVine's one have been seen before
Very high scoring All Star game but you get that when you play no D, glad the West won for Kobe but don't agree with Westbrook MVP. Paul George was shooting beautifully with an equal record 41 points, his shots were dropping very sweetly, should have got it IMO.
So annoyed the cavs traded Varejao, if we don't win the championship (which we probably won't) then we've traded our most loyal player for no reason.
I don't rate the Spurs as much as you seem to. I think they are pretty much on cavs/okc level with warriors clearly better.I look at the trade deadline as a wasted opportunity for the Cavs.
There is that $10.5m Haywood trade exception, and that also nice $2.85m exception via Mike Miller and in the end the Cavs end up moving Varejao, Cunningham, a future first round and second round selection for Frye?
I don't look at that as being fair dinkum about winning the chip.
Some of those guys who don't get used regularly I would have no problem getting rid of with a roster of around 13 players ideal at this time with buyouts to happen still, and perhaps some opportunities there for a David Lee or maybe Joe Johnson if that happens or whoever.
Just some kind of upgrade needs to happen because the Warriors/Spurs or whoever come out of the West are too far ahead.

- Tony Parker can't guard curry, if they go green then klay goes nuts if they swing Leonard onto klay then Barnes will take advantage of parker etc
- Duncan didn't play last time they played but he will be protecting a rim no one is attacking...
I feel cavs will sign JJ, I'm not sure who else. They did stuff up not gettin Korver and moving Love.
He's too good. He pulls up for 3 so far out and makes most of them... It can't really be defended.
Anyone catch Warriors-Spurs? Spurs kept them to 79. Still think Warriors will get the record and win the thing.
I enjoyed the game. The Spurs controlled the game keeping Steph and Klay from making 3s and controlling the pace in a playoff style slow half court battle. The Warriors given that dynamic did really well to keep the margin close throughout, and it just shows even when Steph and Klay aren't making their 3s that they can still through the quality of their defence still stay in the game which is mighty impressive.
If anyone knocks off the Warriors the Spurs are the team to do it this year as the best 3pt defenders in the game and that other team that in any other year probably would win the championship. I overall slightly favour the Warriors while giving the Spurs a fighting chance in a series.
Spurs shot better from behind the arc than the Warriors. That won't happen often. 9/36 25% from 3 is a shocker for Golden State.
The Spurs just looked to take away the three point shot by playing up on the Warriors more aggressively and didn't give Steph or Klay any room to get off uncontested 3pt attempts. It gave the Warriors plenty of opportunities to drive given the way the Spurs were defending the Warriors, and if it was a 7 game series that is what the Warriors would need to realise, but the Warriors didn't really look to take advantage of that, so the Spurs won with the Warriors unable to make that adjustment.
I reckon if you take away the Warriors 3 ball they are right back to the pack...
I can't say I'd agree about the Warriors being right back to the pack without the 3 ball. The Spurs would be better, and the Cavs and Thunder would be in their conversation. But that would be all.
The Warriors are historically by far and away the greatest 3pt shooting team.
In saying that though the Warriors are such a great team because of what they do on both sides of the ball. They're a seriously strong team on defence, causing turnovers (which lead to lots of easy 3s in transition) and they also have the versatility to switch and make it hard for teams to score on them.
The Warriors concede 100ppg most games, but that's a result of the pace of their play (2nd highest to only Sacramento). The Warriors are actually a top 4 team in defensive efficiency based on Hollinger's Defensive Efficiency stat.
