In terms of Irving v CP3 on performance today. They're neck and neck. Irving is the better scorer. CP3 is the premier distributor/pure point guard.

In the long term, with Irving younger. He is the pick of the two.

As a team fit, one is more suitable for one team than the other.

Cleveland could rightly argue that Irving is better for them because he's more a scorer, while CP3 may be relatively superfluous with LeBron the special playmaker you want the ball in the hands of.

If, however, Cleveland can get CP3 + some picks and/or young players as other flexible assets for future trades, and add D.Wade and Mello later. That's now a lot more attractive and championship relevant. Or that's the plan I'd be looking at for Cleveland anyway to gather some firepower for a shot at Golden State to make things interesting.

OKC are worried about losing Westbrook.

The trade will be Oladipo and Sabonis.

Both Westbrook and George want to join LAL. So this may be an interesting trial season for both of them to see if the partnership works and see if they would both either want to stay with OKC or join LAL the following season.

Year after year you hear everyone wants to play for the lakers yet they haven't signed anyone of note for a decade. Maybe they get scared off by the tax they have to pay being a resident there.

Clippers might not be so bad after all if Griffin is playing on.

T-Wolves have upgraded again gaining Teague as a free agent and trading out Rubio for a first round pick.

Regarding the Lakers, no one of note is eyeing them this year. If they have cap space next offseason. Westbrook and P.George are two who have been said to want to get to LAL. LeBron may be another one to consider LAL and bring CP3, D.Wade and Mello with him. There are variations of stars who will consider then. They just need to clear the big contracts Deng, probably Clarkson, then they should be in position to take a shot.

I like the one year deals for both JJ and Amir.

Gives them tremendous flexibility if their young core explodes and stars want to team up with them.

Terrible defender though and now the whole league knows how to shut him down offensively. Go and watch games 1 and 2 of the clipper/jazz play off match up to see how easily Joe Ingles did it. I'm glad to see the back of him. 23 million is wayyyyy overs!

76ers just need shooters to space the floor. JJ is an ideal fit.

They won't lose sleep on any relative lack of defence from JJ. They're more interested in winning 40 games than they are winning 50 games, which JJ as with Amir can help them do.

Iggy got a 48 mil 3 year contract so 16 mil average per season.

Starting 5 of Jordan, Griffin, Gallinari, Rivers, Beverley is pretty exciting actually.

We downgrade our PG, remain similar at SG and significantly upgrade at SF.
While we still won't be competing with the likes of the Warriors/Rockets, I think we'll still finish in the 50 win range.
Who knows what might happen if we can get an injury free run and some other teams have bad luck as it only takes a 3 month lay off to a Curry/Harden to seriously destroy their team's season.

With that team the Warriors have. They have to spend and keep that group together. They can keep winning chips, and that's what it's all about.

They've got a 90s Bulls quality team together, so it's one of those once every 20 year type teams you do everything financially possible, however costly.

I expect the Clippers to be ok. Losing one of CP3 or Griffin doesn't matter as long as that's all that's lost.

More 3pt shooting is needed for Clippers to remain a top few seed out West, if that can be acquired, Clippers can maintain a similar record I'm anticipating.

Winning championships makes the value of the franchise increase, they can have higher ticket prices at the stadiums, sell more jerseys etc all over the long term = short term financial pain for long term financial gain + championships and the prestige to come with it.

It's now worth an estimated 2.7 billion USD.

I don't think they care about a 20 million dollar luxury tax that much.

With more chips that 2.7 billion USD will only skyrocket.

GSW are one of those rare scenarios where spending as much as possible is advised in order to retain the team.

As long as the core of Curry, Durant, Thompson, Green, Iguodala, Livingston and I'd even say McGee who was seriously good for them in the minutes he was on the floor for them. That's all they need, then it's just a bunch of veteran minimums or underrates/underpriced types to surround them for depth.
