Watched Bone Tomahawk last night. Not sure how it's sitting on 7 in IMDb. It was a hard slog.

Watched it a week or so ago.

Umm, the last 10 minutes. Mental.

Probably close to the most gruesome death scene I’ve ever seen in a movie.

Watching the other western that popped up at the moment. The sisters brothers. Also 7 on IMDb. Half way through and it's a complete yawnfest.

Ive watched plenty of Hostel, Saw types.

100% spot on. Absolute must watch for all parents of under 18s. This and Attenborough's doco really define our failings as humans. We're f’ed if we don't turn it around soon.

Attenborough's our planet is so sad.

Barbarians was a bit slow, the main battle should of been over at least 3 eps, as they advertise it if that was the main part of the series, has been given the go ahead for season 2, presumably the Romans will get their revenge

It looks like a really pulpy show, but I hear the spoken Latin is extremely accurate.

There's a lot more gorier death scenes but Charlie's death in Hereditary was one of the most shocking IMO. And just leaving the body there for the mum to find the next day. FMD.

Yeah maybe my expectations of my westerns are a bit more narrow. I'm finding I'm a lot harder to please in general these days though.

So boring. Boring, unlikeable characters. Third or fourth episode we dropped it as the story ground to a halt. Marking time, zero sense of suspense. Just awful.

We really enjoyed it. Finished season 2 last night. We found it pretty gripping throughout.

Enjoyable series but like Strangers Things the hype surrounding it made me expect more.
Anya Taylor Joy was stunning in the lead character role, some of the other choices were a little puzzling though.

Like Stranger Things, I watched it before all the hype so my expectations were lower. I really enjoyed it but if you go in expecting the best thing eva you're inevitably setting yourself up for some amount of disappointment.

I am always a little slow out of the blocks when it comes to new TV shows so hearing hype around a show is inevitable.
Normally I will lower the bar because I have learned with a lot of things the hype don't often match the reality (draft picks a great example)
I certainly wasn't expecting the best thing ever and did genuinely enjoy it (a lot more than Stranger Things) is it an award winning show like some say, I am not so sure.

Left field TV series I am enjoying.

Korean show, Hotel del Luna.

If your into quirky supernatural light comedy/romance with a slight touch of horror. This may be your thing.

Plusses, production values are really good, better than any Aussie show. Lead actress is both smoking hot and talented.

Minuses, being so many things, it's none of them to a large degree. By design, it's not lol funny. It's supernatural, but not dramatically so. Has horror elements, but is certainly not a horror show.

In the end, it will probably prove to be more a romance than anything else.

Worth it, if for nothing but the actress.

The only series in my life that I came late into that was hyped up to the max that I truly think lived up to those expectations was Breaking Bad. Now that was a once in a generation masterpiece.

Stranger Things is a decent show but extremely overrated and the sexualization of the kids (by both male and female fans) of the show is extremely creepy.
Writers don't help it but making the kids pash and seemingly be almost sexually active..

Also Winora Ryder is extremely annoying in it, it has to be said.

The overarching story line in Stranger Things has pretty much been the same in all three seasons, they literally just rinse and repeat the story with slight changes to characters involved. This is an example of a TV show that should have ended after 1 season, and it would have been one of the classics.
