While watching it you could obviously see some of the people interviewed had suffered burns and scolding, but the longer I watched the more I was thinking how lucky these people were to come away with relatively minor injuries. The last 10 minutes or so really put me in my place :straining: Quite harrowing tbh.

And yeah, brilliantly done. Definitely recommend.
Yep, like "Thirteen Lives" totally riveting.

Here's a list of shows (in the article) either renewed or canceled for 2023. There are too many for me to list.

Just trying to figure that out - does "1883: season 2 (Paramount+) – Renewed" mean renewed beyond season 2, or just up to?

I think it means renewed for another season.

Sat on a Plane with tears streaming watching those last minutes, especially the boy and his grandad and the wrist mention by the couple.

I hope they all get a huge negligence payout

Watching the Bernie Madof doco reminds you how F*ed rich people are. This guy ran a Ponzi scheme for 40 years and only got caught because of the GFC. The SEC was hopeless in uncovering this crime even when great evidence was presented. They stuffed up the investigation time and again. Any wonder this world is F*ed.

:openmouth: 1899 cancelled

Netflix have a history of cancelling shows after a season. They did it with this other show which I really enjoyed then I found out it had got cancelled.

Maybe it's better off that Wednesday goes to a different platform after all.

They cancel shows because of the drop off in viewership. Apparently only 32 percent of people who started 1899 finished it and the cost of another season wasnt justified.

I must admit I was one of those. Watched the first couple of eps then got busy over December and never went back to it.

I don't mean to be the negative Nancy around here, but it always confuses me why this thread keeps going strong with so many posts, while some other threads in this forum don't.

If you look at the aggregate 'Best of 2022' lists compiled at metacritic, it isn't until #15 where a Netflix show appears... And only 4 series in the top 32 of the year!!! (see link below)

I classify this thread as an OTT thread, where people are ale to suggest shows that they have seen whilst surfing through Netflix, Prime, Disney+, Binge, etc. And they can see if the show gets enough traction to warrant a full thread. Sometimes a thread will only get 10 posts in a thread and then never spoken about again, this thread prevents that.

I get the theory behind that, but I don't think that's how everyone else sees the thread... Since it's called 'The Netflix Thread'. I'm sure most people only post about Netflix shows here.

I see occasionally other platforms mentioned. Do we have other threads for the other platforms? Is it worth creating threads for other platforms, or should this thread title just be changed to OTT Shows, or something similar?

Disney+ & Binge have their own threads, but barely get used. I don't think the other streaming sites do.

Disney Plus

Binge

Presuming it is also airing on Australian Netflix... When someone gets around to watching 'Kaleidoscope' (in any episode order they want, apparently), please let us know how much of it is gimmick or otherwise:

I've watched it. I liked it. Yes, you can watch it in any order you want, as long as the last episode (Titled WHITE - The heist) is watched last.

So, the episodes are as follows:

1. Violet - 24 years before the Heist
2. Green - 7 years before the Heist
3. Yellow - 6 weeks before the Heist
4. Orange - 3 weeks before the Heist
5. Blue - 5 days before the Heist
6. White - THE HEIST
7. Red - The morning after the Heist
8. Pink - 6 months after the Heist.

I chose to watch it in Chronological order, except I watched "White" last. So when I watched "Blue" I jumped immediately to Red, then Pink followed by white. White needs to be watched last.

The good thing is, everyone who chooses their own order will have their own unique viewing experience, and I'm keen to hear what others found by watching it in their own order.

Here is the order I would recommend for you (The Reservoir Dogs order):

Red
Yellow
Violet
Green
Orange
Blue
Pink
White

Hope you enjoy.

Well Netflix does have the most subscribers by a fair way.

Really surprised 1883 and Mayor of Kingstown didn't make the top 30. But yeah, Severance the standout, and deservedly No.1.

Netflix is the first streamer I got and I've never ran out of things to watch so mostly just stick to it. I presume others are similar. As such I haven't bothered getting any others.

I borrow siblings/friends Disney+, Stan and Amazon accounts but rarely use them. If I want to watch something not on those services, like currently with the excellent Halt and Catch Fire and the Twilight Zone, I sail the seas.

Currently on Netflix I'm watching Call My Agent and The Cabinet of Curiosities and have 77 tv shows and movies on 'my list' that I haven't seen. The list only increases as well. Film-wise I just saw Under the Silver Lake and Marriage Story.
