This Bale saga is a mess. Changes every day. His scumbag agent, the bloke who was banned after his assistance with the Cole transfer to Chelsea, has been spruiking Real to him as much as Marca. Bale now looks like he has his heart set on leaving, and has faked his second injury of the pre-season to try and do it without having to offer a transfer request.

Levy, Lewis and AVB are all set on him staying, unless Real offer something seriously good up front.

Right now, they want to pay €100m over 5 years  or €100m worth of players according to their valuation.

Spurs hierarchy keen on something like £85m plus Morata and Contraeo

Fabregas won't go to United. He's a Barcelona/Arsenal or nothing sort of player.
Don't you find it very odd that Man Utd would've gone so publicly trying to sign him without knowing if he'd even consider playing for them?

He probably just waited for Martino to convince him he is really wanted this season.

Someone was hinting that it could happen. Looks dead now.

I guess I'll wait for deadline day for the return of Ronaldo....sigh!

Hope Newcastle get Remy, would help heaps.
Yeah me too mcuzzy - we are woefully short up front (though I think Cisse will have a better season if he can get better service which he should get if Cabaye, Ben Arfa and Marveaux can all stay on the park).

Initially I wasn't keen given he had the chance to join us but snubbed us for QPR's money but on loan and with Joe Kinnear pulling the strings, we can't really afford to be too proud haha. 2m loan fee with option to buy is the reported deal being nutted out.

What's happening with his accusation?
Is he being tried?
He's on bail at the moment - he still has to answer those charges later on (think late this year/early next year) so I think a loan is probably the best option any club would go for given no one will want to fork our 7-8m only to find out he is guilty (worst case scenario) in a few months. I suspect if he was already cleared of the charges, he would have a lot more interest.

Fabregas won't go to United. He's a Barcelona/Arsenal or nothing sort of player.

I don't agree that Madrid will 'turn to Suarez' purely because they can't get Bale. Bale wouldn't be a replacement for Higuain. Suarez would. It's just that spending in excess of 40m twice in a window is unlikely, even for Madrid. They'll keep on pursuing Bale, no matter how long it takes. Similar to Barcelona with Cesc, I reckon. It's not a matter of will they get the player, but when.
Spot on, anyone bothered to count the number of strikers left at Real.
If Spurs lock in on Morata as part of the Bale sale - that leaves Real very thin & Suarez becomes the next logical target.

new manager, new chief executive or whatever, new strategy. they've obviously targeted a couple of big guns due to moyes coming in. they've just gone about it all wrong and either messed about and been slow (thiago) or players that aren't leaving (fabregas)

Must suck to be an Arsenal supporter in the transfer window
It is as tedious as watching Arsenal play most of last season. There is nothing enjoyable to supporting Arsenal at the moment. Even when we do try and sign a big name player it is an utter campaigner in Suarez.

Same old shit, different season. Only difference is that this year we haven't sold any of our best players. We don't really have anyone left good enough for the likes of barca, united, city and madrid etc.

Cazorla and Wilshere, maybe Koscielny, would probably be the only players to attract interest of other big clubs.

Yeah but I meant that I cannot imagine that they were so open about trying to sign him without having spoken to his agent already. For that reason I also cannot imagine that he would've said "yeah nah" to Utd if Barcelona would've accepted a bid.

If Martino had told him he didn't see him as an important player and if Arsenal wouldn't have intervened, he probably would've moved to Utd.

All these transfers are done by agents anyway. Agents ring up clubs constantly telling them they can deliver a certain player. Also, I find the whole idea of "tapping up" and complaining about it not of today anymore.

According to Moyes handbook of football ethics, once Barca said he's not for sale United should have moved on to other imaginary targets. At least thats what he spent three years telling City despite Everton board members encouraging further bids for Lescott.

Makes you wonder why Moyes didn't push this hard for Thiago, he would of gone there if they went this hard for him.

Manchester United last night rejected a second Chelsea bid for striker Wayne Rooney.
Reports put the latest offer at close to £30million after the Blues first tested the water with a move for the unsettled forward in July.
Rooney is now expected to submit an official transfer request after again telling manager David Moyes that he wants to leave the club at the weekend

Yeah, so where are the media reports accusing United and Chelsea of being classless in making second bids for players their clubs want to keep? You know, like all the ones about Arsenal.

Not that sure that United want to keep him and they may be keen to get rid of his wage off the books. Plus if they are looking to sell they need to do it now as he's probably not going to be worth 1/2 as much next summer.

I think the ones about Arsenal all come from something Rogers said. He seems to think that bidding for a player is some sort of unethical behaviour. Which is pretty stupid, not sure what Arsenal have done wrong really.

Just not to Chelsea, sell him anywhere but there. :p

I think the problem is we didn't bid their exact valuation plus a 10% gratuity for the bother, as any club bidding for a player is apparently supposed to do.

Just like when United opened with a bid of 12 million for RvP :thumbsu:

Problem is Coleen doesn't want to leave England.
Problem is Coleen should have left Wayne already lol. I know it's going to take something special to get Rooney to leave England but I just don't want him to join Chelsea because I know he'll star for them and hammer in the goals.
