Just looking forward to when Liverpool supporters on here see Suarez run out for Arsenal, and they start calling him a rascist, diving, biting scumbag....and when Rooney runs out for Chelsea, United supporters calling him a fat, unfit, granny shagging scouse tw@t!

Bring on the footy!!

I have now come around to Rooney joining us. Purely to see the reaction of the mancs.

If he flops he flops, so be it. We have Lukaku.
He threatened to leave in 2010, signed a new 5-year deal and apologised to the club, the fans (after being pretty angry and upset) eventually forgave him. Now that he has done it again I think you'll find the majority of United fans wanting him gone.

No ones bigger than the club.

I have no emotional attachment to Rooney anymore, don't care whether he stays or goes tbh.

And we've seen how well arguing his word against someone else's has gone for Suarez in the past! To be honest I think he doesn't give this interview if he and his lawyers are confident that they have a case against Liverpool based on an actual written agreement. I think he's getting desperate now because the offer he was expecting from Madrid hasn't come in yet and he wasn't expecting Liverpool to take such a strong stance that they wouldn't be selling him to an EPL rival under any circumstances.

I think you're right that Madrid will eventually come in for him, they're probably just waiting to see if we'll drop our asking price after Suarez has finished with all of this rubbish. Thankfully Henry, Rodgers & Ayre are making all the right noises that if he's sold it will be on their terms, I think it's important that they maintain that position.
Arguing his word against Liverpool just won't work as it's irrelevent. The tribunal will consider the contract and nothing else, so even if he is in the right on a verbal promise more fool him for relying on the word of a football club official over getting it inserted into his contract. But as he mentions he believes the terms of his contract entitle him to a move. Without seeing the contract, who knows.

I don't agree that the interview wouldnt be given if his lawyers were confident of a result. Mediation won't happen before the end of the window, it's not a great option for him. He wants out and the way it seems he'll do that is put as much pressure on the club as possible to sell him in the next month.

Hasn't sounded too good for Liverpool and Rodgers with what Luis has been saying and what Reina said about his loan to Napoli
A bit like Spurs, eventually footballers will know better than to trust the word of someone that doesnt keep his promises.

Footballers arent really known for their common sense though.

I just hope Spurs accept our swap deal of Aguero for Kyle "young player of the year" Walker. We might have to throw in a few million to sweeten the deal.

De Ha Ha wouldnt be in the top 5 keepers in the league atm

Please tell us City's history of never doing anything wrong
What's City got to do with anything?

If a City player relied on a verbal promise from City they'd be a fool too. Spurs and Liverpool are the two clubs that have been accused of breaking promises to players that want out.

Would take Lloris in a heartbeat over De Gea. Superb keeper. Hart and Cech too, De Gea still very young and may grow into a better keeper through his career, but not currently.

Of course I'm coming from a club where over the last few years they're have been times when a loaf of bread could do a better job in goals.

You're always quick labelling others liars and what not, but meh.

Still not sure what that has to do with Man City.

All I was pointing out is that if a club reneges on a verbal promise, sooner or later people will stop relying on promises made by that club. Spurs and Liverpool are the two clubs that have been accused of reneging on a verbal promise by players looking for moves.

So you're making a big deal of nothing.

Liverpool did absolutely nothing wrong with Reina. He and his agent had been flirting with Barcelona since January, it was getting to the stage that it was highly likely that Valdes was going to leave and Barcelona were going to make an offer for him so we had to bring in a replacement. Circumstances changed and that offer never came but Reina can't then have a sook when we decide to send him elsewhere because we rate Mignolet higher, he's been a great servant of the club and I love him but he doesn't have a leg to stand on there. You can't go off asking your ex to take you back, then when she knocks you back act surprised when your current girlfriend decides to give you the flick.

I think they're doing the right thing with Suarez, we don't want to get into the situation of gaining a reputation where players think they can sign lucrative long term contracts with us and then act like they don't exist. They need to keep their poker face on and sell on their terms, not Suarez's. I've outlined before why I don't think there's any danger of him going on strike this season, if he really wants to play for a club challenging for the CL and league titles and he doesn't get that move this summer then it would be suicidal for him to pull a Tevez because none of those clubs would want to go near him.
If the verbal clause to Suarez is true, I wouldn't put it past Luis to be making it up, then it is very poor form by the club and it would be difficult for any of the current players or ones you are trying to attract to trust their deals.

Agree that Reina brought it on himself but once again it is poor form by the club to ship him off to another country and uproot his family without at least discussing it with him first, especially since he has been a great servant to Liverpool for many years.

Both show a lack of man management and it's not the sort of things you want to see or hear if you are a current squad member or one being enticed to join Liverpool.
