WTF?

Tottenham have offered £30m, Chelsea have offered €37m, do you think that's 7 more?

One would have to answer Kia Joorabchian.
Sorry didn't didn't realise it was different currency. Please forgive me, I love you still.:hearts:

Wow...

KDB has played a game in England, and Oscar a good season.

Mata is part of the Bale, RVP, Suarez group.
They do/have played at other places then Chelsea.

Don't get me wrong Matas a gun and i don't want him sold, but he's not as important to us as Bale is to you guys. The transition would be seamless if he was sold.

Mata is a magnificent footballer, a game changer. I watch Chelsea games simply to see Mata, he is unbelievable. In the top 4-5 in the EPL along with Suarez, van Persie, Bale etc.

Irrespective of other players around him, Chelsea would be crazy to sell. You just don't sell your best player. Especially to United.

Unless you're Wenger.

My point is that you don't need to sell Mata. Mourinho is doing it by choice and it's inexplicable.

Jose is doing it by choice, if it happens. I think maybe he doesn't see Mata fitting into the style he wants to play(doesn't track back and isn't quick enough), which is fine as long ad he hangs around for a while.

God I hope Mourinho does it, would be awesome to have Mata here but really, it's not going happen.

Chelsea aren't that stupid to sell their best player to us.

Juan Mata is clearly better than Oscar and Kevin De Bruyne.

Also, bringing in Rooney & Willian as replacements doesn't mean Chelsea won't weaken. Before you tell me Rooney is proven in the PL, let me remind you a certain fellow called Fernando was too.

Apparently Mata doesn't fit into Mou's set-up. Both clubs have apparently confirmed United has enquired about Mata. I can only imagine it involving Rooney. I don't see Chelsea selling to us straight up.

I think it's a good deal actually for both teams. Chelsea need a striker like Rooney and we need a midfielder like Mata.

Each team not being overly strengthened or weakened. Both being improved.

Not saying they're better footballers....yet(could be argued they are at international level), just that they're better suited to the style Jose wants to play And if that's what it takes to get a world class striker(which we desperately need, so be it.

Willian now a favourite on Skybet to sign for Chelsea.

Does common sense even exist anymore? I know his agent is Kia Joorabchian, but even then this is outrageous. Chelsea have more guys like Willian at their club than any other club in the world. They sent Marko Marin of all players on bloody loan.
Chelsea are a campaigner of a club. Just look at the way they dismiss managers

It would be win win for Mourinho. He knows Bale will go to Real this season or next, he can **** over Real while weakening Spurs. He would also be hitting LFC who will lose Suarez as collateral.

I'm pretty confident we won't be selling Mata. The reason he didn't play the Hull game was because he only played the single preseason match due to the confederations cup and injury. Spain then traveled to Ecuador for a friendly the week before the season started, also why Azpi didn't play, so had a bit of jet lag (stupid time and place to have a friendly). Mourinho likes to have a psychological advantage over his rivals and giving Mata to United would destroy that.

I do find the Willian news strange though. It definitely does not sound like an Emenalo decision but a player Roman wants, which doesn't usually end well.

I could definitely see Mata leaving for Rooney. That certainly strengthens us, problem is it also strengthens United.

Why can't we just give them 40m, Roman ... :(

On the Willian fiasco, lol. Although typeclub may have a point, Mourinho knows what he's doing.

Well that's the thing, I don't think United want to accept just money for Rooney, we probably wouldn't use it this window and our squad would be weakened by Rooneys departure. On the other hand, Chelsea would have the strongest squad in the league.

I believe we could be asking Chelsea to add Mata in any deal. I would be happy with it, obviously would be disappointed at seeing Rooney in a Chelsea shirt but having Mata at United would be a dream. Him, Kagawa and RVP :hearts:

Next to no chance of us selling Suarez at this point.

If Madrid had made a decent offer for him a few weeks ago as opposed to in the final 10 days of the window then I'm sure we would have taken it, but we've had enough difficulty securing our key targets as it is. I can't see us being able to secure a quality replacement(s) for him at this late notice, there's just no compelling reason for Liverpool to sell him. As crazy as it sounds even a £60m offer would probably be knocked back because unlike Spurs who had the Bale money guaranteed to them very early on in the window, we wouldn't have enough time to spend it and would enter the season at a significant disadvantage. Like I said, earlier in the window it probably would have been accepted but right now it's just not in Liverpool's interests.
