Cox v Franklin progression. C'mon man. Seriously. Everyone has their own curve.
Yeah they do but the fact remains that in their first 20 games Cox as a fwd/ruck averages more goals a game than Franklin did as fwd alone. It may be hard to take in as we aren't used to seeing actual facts in this thread.

Is moore a knee jerk reaction to last yr.. or are we actually building a backline around him.. if he's there as a band-aid.. that's simply not how you go about winning premierships.. you simply don't cut corners. I don't understand how pro pro coaches dont friggen understand this.
Sciliy is being played by Clarkson in the backline
Daisy played HBF before moving to the midfield.
Its standard practice by many club to get young players to learn accountability by playing in the backline.

So no, we are not cutting corners.

I don't understand how you have missed this simple strategy used by coaches.

Excuses why Buckley is still coaching:

1. Robbos announcement on foxfooty of Collingwood drug issue resulted in 80 point loss derailing the season after round 1
2. Injuries
3. Premiership players passed their prime and retired
4. Culture
5. Administration
6. Assistant coaches were shit
7. Gary Pert
8. Neil Balme
9. Still learning on the job
10. MM
11. Assistant coaches not as compitent as the great man.
12. Players poor kicking skills
13. Recruitment Hyne and Company
14. Players love Bucks
15. Buckley loves Collingwood
16. Bucks has a terrific rapport with players

Anything else I've left out.. feel free to add to this impressive list.

Cloke copped more beating under Buckley than Mick.
Imo No he was beaten up in 2009 2010 2011 as a lead up forward

2012 onwards decided to do wrestlemania and moved stuff all , we kept putting it on his head , they kept infringing and run the ball out
But he rarely got jumped into or jumped on

True gimp it's impressive but What about since it become afl 16 varied teams have made the grand final

So I'll go with EQUILISATION and AFL planning

Sugest since jack Hamilton left its been the same story for us

No rub of the green

Were you calling Franklin a "lrgend" after his first 20 games?
You can send me to a Tim Robbins Landmark Forum vlakia weekend brainwashing session and get him/them to try to convince me that that stats matter on this.. still won't do the trick re

Collingwood don't and shouldn't use excuses like the AFL giving us a bad run (which is debatable anyway) because they want the expansion teams to succeed and nor should you!

Shame on you Darky! If you wanna do that stuff go and follow WC or ADE - that's what their fans do - WE DON'T!

The quality head coaches in the AFL can deal with these adversities and re-invent the team to progress the club forward. The can be done without having to plummet down the ladder each season. Just look at Geelong. They were in the exact situation as us in 2011 but have still remain competitive for the past 6 years.[/QUOTE]

Geel are flattered by a huge 86% win rate at home that gives them a walk up start to the finals.
And have they really been COMPETITIVE - given they have lost 7 of their last 10 finals.

Give CFC an 86% win rate at home and we too would look competitive.

St. Kilda is a far better and more realistic benchmark - they have done very poorly since 2010 GF. Rebuilding is not easy.

No it's not; but the problem is that ever since the "succession" the club has spewed rose coloured glasses rhetoric that we'll be flagging by 2017 being one example (Pert & others) and never has the club said since the "succession" that we're rebuilding or regenerating. Just continually beat it's chest "we're Collingwood" while the competition are rolling around on the floor in laughter - and still are!

And St Kilda BTW are a completely different scenario, all of their GF stars were not young and promising like the list we had; saints went all in for a flag. We should have been looking like a hawks or cats (dynasty) - no comparison.

Ask daisy or anyone he played under duress all back end of 2011 and has admitted it instead of resting
I wonder how many players that year were selected when a rest would have been relevant for career longevity. I am under the impression MM wanted to win , and win well, to secure his coaching position rather than rest players to maximise gf chances and player longevity.
Imo No he was beaten up in 2009 2010 2011 as a lead up forward

Don't agree with this totally. Can't say for sure but my impression was Cloke was often the only KPF and played deep way to much to a team that couldn't deliver good ball. Was double/tripled teamed for years. Was it his choices or poor coaching I can't say but he definitely was not played/playing to his strengths.
Note the changes to interchange may have influenced to move away from 2KPF, once change ruckman to 1KPF, 1 change ruckman. Whether we blame Bucks for the failure of the 2011 structure to work 2012 onwards or whether we blame AFL rule changes is up for grabs.

As a lead up forward he got out into space and more one on ones. Under Buckley when he played more FF he'd get the the ball kicked over his regularly and the double teaming opponent would ram into his back.
