Happily take a premiership. Time will tell how quickly the Doggies rebound, think they're in for a very interesting time over the next few months. Already lost Murphy and Boyd, who'll be next?
Every side has turnover at the end of a year, Doggies had a few oldies, I love Dale Morris, he is an underated superstar, not sure if he will play next year and there will be the usual delistings and transfers. Apparently we are the front runners in getting Crameri... if he costs nothing its not a bad deal

They throw in Dale and it's getting closer to "not a bad deal", otherwise, it'd be a pass from me.

I'm happy to back Buckley for another 2 years in the total vacuum of better options and hope he can become what we are all (should be) hoping for
I'd have faith that even the most ardent non Bucks Collingwood supporter would wish him success in this role. C'mon Bucks I'm begging you make me eat my words!

Not sure I agree, very pedestrian writer.
Heard him speak? Barely can string two words together without gasping for air. Has a peculiar speaking style
I'd imagine with those claw hands he would be a very "pedestrian" writer. lol. And he heads up the "say that again" promo screen on talkin footy for a reason

It wouldnt have made a lick of difference. Would Malthouse have stopped Ball Maccaffer and Brown from having season ending injuries and Thomas from suffering an ankle injury hes never fully recovered from? Would it have stopped McCarthy from dying?

Its now 2017. Why are we still bothering to talk about what ifs from seven years ago? The club decided Malghouse was past it (they were right) and they moved on.

What they are doing now (right or wrong) is a totally seperate discussion.
On Thomas yes. He ruined himself, he didn't rehab properly and was surfing on his ankle. It was a big rebellion time for him while Buckley was there which cost him his whole football career. He simply stopped caring.
I can't help but think about Thomas pointing to someone in the box early in Buckleys coaching career. He's just one example of the players that didn't want to play for him.

Which other President (current or otherwise) has the same sort of media role with the same level of exposure? Which other President gets habitually door-stopped?
Agreed but that shouldn't excuse the foot in mouth examples and sure he's not the only one............. still

I reckon the whole Thomas rebellion stuff was overblown. Another BF urban myth.

Sorry mate but today is not the first day of spring. So much for facts.
Hmmmm, 1st of September, yep that is spring!
Thanks, did not know that...
"In the truest sense, spring starts on or around September 21 (the date varies by a day or so each year), This is known as the spring equinox, and it heralds the day when the southern hemisphere receives more sun than the northern hemisphere".

Technically yes, however I was going by the calendar. As far as being indisputable well I must have speculated, sorry Jmac

holy crap Ed said "Make Collingwood Great Again"

lolololol
Ed to make Collingwood great again? Under who's watch did we become pathetic & irrelevant?

While I hope that the current plans turn everything around, I can't help the feeling that every time Ed speaks, it's like I'm being licked to death by a hundred politicians.

Actions speak louder than words. All I know for certain is we've gone from a strong & feared club, to a mediocre club.

Although the team played better toward the end of the year, the one thing I can't get out of my head, is the dropping of Reidy before finally giving him a go as a permanent forward. You could argue this bewildering late position change both cost us a finals birth, and also saved Bucks coaching job.

I hope the reappointment works out well, but I've seen enough to have some doubts.

Only caught the end of Buckleys interview this morning on SEN.

Was interesting to hear the tone he spoke of Chris Mayne. I was expecting it to just be the typical 'he has been a good leader around the club' etc etc. But he pretty much just said it hasn't worked and they will have to talk at seasons end about going forward. He kind of stopped himself going further because Mayne is still part of the finals campaign, but it indicated to me that the club is going to look to move him on irrespective of contract.

I think we have seen plenty. If you're a betting man, I don't think things are going to work out. I hope I eat my words and things work out but I highly doubt it.
