First up, while I'm not a Collingwood supporter, I'm not a Troll looking to stir sh*t.
As soon as I heard about Bucks being reappointed, I wanted to make a comment. I am absolutely delighted that Buckley was reappointed, as I think he's been a brilliant player and coach. Not just one or the other, but both. Over the years I've been absolutely fed up to the back teeth with AFL clubs turning over coaches like a revolving door

. Now make no mistake, some of these coaches have seriously lacked leadership and tactical nous, where they're not up to task. But many of the coaches that have been sacked by AFL clubs have not been deserving of this treatment.
There's been a whole lot of issues at play, in regards to the regular sacking of AFL coaches, but from where I sit the #1 person responsible for this is Vlad (Demetriou). He brought about the two expansion clubs - GWS and Goldcoast. I mean absolutely no disrespect to the supporters and players for GWS and Goldcoast, but the introduction of two extra teams has not helped the AFL competition in any positive way. The AFL was already straining to fill 16 teams with truly elite talent, then Vlad came alone with his hair-brained $scheme$ to create two new teams in NSW and QLD. All this has done has "dilute" the talent amongst an already overstretched league, and now we're reaping the results.
I'm just glad the Collingwood hierarchy planted a flag in the turf and didn't jump on board the merry-go-round of sacking senior coaches because the clubs are struggling to lure/retain elite talent. I can only hope and pray that supporters throughout the AFL get on board with what's suggested
here, as that's the only answer to the current debacle that Vlad has turned the AFL into.
