The new coach of the Bulldogs is...

Just been confirmed on Fox Footy.
A good appointment - he did the job well when he filled in for that last game last season. Interestingly, he's the third Bulldogs coach in a row to have started in the job during a season.

Honestly the Dogs going to choose Rhode as their new coach is akin to a bloke going to buy all his clothes and shoes from K-mart or Dimmys.
Bargain basement coach for a bargain basement club. Lets face it, the Dogs haven't got the money to attract a top line coach like Denis Pagan or Rodney Eade. ETC.

Are you telling us something new?
Dimmys or Kmart they are still clothes or coaches. Just because he isn't asking for a lot of money doesn't mean he is crap.
Wait and see with Rhode.
There are some crap coaches on good money. Rodney Eade!!!!!!!! top line?????
Maybe there are some people still out there that coach or play for the love not for the $?

So that's what the problem is. Thanks for sharing that with us.

Peter Rohde might just surprise a few people.

no offence but Pagan wouldn't look twice at a struggling club like the Dogs. Sure you have a great young list that is easily a lot better than Carlton's but ... the Blues have the facilities and money to win flags a lot sooner than the Dogs.

How did Pagan get into the discussion? He was never a candidate.

Hope your facilities and money get you a flag real soon. After you've paid off your salary cap fines. And recouped your $9 million loss.

If there is one team that is smug when they shouldn't be, it's the doggies. You might surprise us but I doubt it. Rhode would not be as good a choice as Brittain and if they chose this they made the wrong move! But, we will see!

Pagan-He has only been at a struggling club for most of the last 30 years!
Only your opinion on who'll win flags sooner.
Facilities and money for breaking the cap, under hand payments or what is really is "cheating". Yes we don't have those!

We'll wait to see if the AFL don't wimp out and your precious draft picks become someone elses.

Congratulations Peter Rhode.

We don't want your rejects. You can pay off his contract with your money and facilities too.

ha

If poor coaching and injuries were the reason for Carlton's poor season why then is someone like Stephen Silvagni advocating change at Carlton. I think the woes a much deeper than that. But believe what you will. There are some real imbedded problems at Carlton, with their financial position not as healthy as some (you included) believe.

Last time we selected a "bargain basement coach", it was Terry Wallace. Last time you selected a "bargain basement coach", it was Wayne Brittain. Everyone has their disadvantages they have to work with - in our case it's lack of money, in your case, despite all the money and support in the world, it's utter incompetence.

I think after this season that club is Carlton.
*You have a handy 9 million debt thanks to a numnuts President. *You have a penalty for cheating that may rule you out of drafts.
*Your best players are all injury prone and / or coming to the end
*Your youngsters are trash and your on field future is laughable.
Next season we will play finals football, Carlton will not finish higher then tenth. On field Carlton arguably has the worst future throughout the league, sure you had injuries but even with them back you won't make the 8. And I can't wait for a couple of years when Ratten is gone, Bradley is gone, McKay is gone and Kouta is unlikely to ever return to his past form. In 2 years, Kouta to Whitnall, to Kouta to............................

Peter Rohde is a great selection

I think considering who the Bulldogs had to choose from, (noone of any real note in my opinion) Peter Rhode will do as good a job as the next person.

Cheers!!

Tell us where Carlton are going to get the money to keep Pagan?
The Blues are very lucky they have a powerful backer who hands over money when they need it.
What with salary cap issues and interest on the Legends stand, the Blues are in quicksand at the moment.
Although I hope they sort themselves out, I wouldn't be throwing stones Mailman.

I will remember this dumb quote! Sure you will be playing finals when Carlton will only finish below tenth! There is your smugness! Where is our penalty for cheating??? Haven't seen one yet!
Best players injury prone??? Define that! This has been our worst year with injuries and our players haven't been injured that bad before this year!
Our youngsters are trash??? Well that is utter bull****! Didn't one of our youngsters (that was injured from about Round 7 until Round 21) poll more or equal votes to some of the "great players" of our comp in the Brownlow.

I can only laugh

Ask any one with half a brain whether they'd have Trent Sporn or Rob Murphy. Our young players are leaps and bounds ahead of yours, if yours are so great why were you last. And incidentally our senior players are better to and we will undoubtedly finish above you next year

Bomber Thompson was "no-one of real note" SeinDude. Not such a bad thing IMO.

Have you seen Sporn play? Probably not, SO SHUT YOUR TRAPHOLE! You may actually have seen him play! He starred against your pathetic team and that is where his votes came from. Your "great senior players" didn't play so great to let the injury ravaged wooden spooners get the all time highest 1st QTR time score at Colonial! No, they played woefully and our youngsters shined against you! Houlihan to Doering to seal the matchwinning goal. They are young you twit!
