The indoor nets are in the giant WC / Freo warm up areas. Home team dressing rooms will double as Australia & England or WA & visitors during big bash.

WC and Freo each have exclusive use facilities... visiting AFL teams get smaller dressing rooms behind the goals.

Ah ok. I was thinking that as a possibility as mets can be installed. Just wasn't sure about it being long enough for a bowler run up & the floor surface situation.

Yeah the batsmen will probably prefer the outdoor nets to get thier eye onto some deviation off the pitch. The indoor nets will be some kind of boards & carpet over the soft rubbery footy floor.

But those rooms are huge. Plenty big enough for a decent run up.

So some security questions from that picutre. Looks hard to see, but they seem very close to the stadium. Would have thought modern stadiums would have entry a fair distance from the actual stadium. I went to Levis Stadium (49ers new stadium) and entry gates were a good hundred meters at least from the stadium. They also had airport type security screening, items in box - walk through a metal detector. Also all NFL games you are not allowed bags. Can see in the picture no one has a backpack. A clear see through plastic bag is the only thing you can bring in. Helped so much with entry people not carrying in backpacks full of half their belongings for security to check. Wondering if they are putting anything like that in place here, or at least have the facilities available to add it on when needed. Can see in photo I took from after going through security how far away entry was from the stadium.

Just measured them (on old drawings). 70m long is bigger than I thought.

Didn't realise there are 2 home changerooms with another for the visiting team. Do we know which of the main ones are the Eagles and Dockers?

Adelaide Oval has the same set up too, with a shared corporate facility in between. Crows have the western end of the Riverbank stand, Port the middle of the stand and the visitors the eastern end of the stand

WC east side, Freo west.

People seem to misunderstand the scale of the place and the space available in the envelope. A lap around the outside is well more than a kilometre. The footprint is unachievable at Subi or the old East Perth powerstation. Its a monster.

So the Freo rooms are closer to the visitor's room then?

The stairs from the changerooms to the players seating in the stands directly above is interesting.

Free transport, its time to get dinkum, those attending the new stadium should pay their own way:
http://www.perthnow.com.au/news/western-australia/perth-stadium-free-public-transport-deal-doesnt-add-up-for-was-finances/news-story/cb04c556ed43b2c21214b91fdf909b46

The Government spokesman said yesterday there were currently no plans to remove the free travel .... toughen up Mr Mac !!

The way they've designed it the government doesn't have a choice. The entire transport strategy is based on a majority of the crowd catching the train, and if people had to buy tickets for it then the whole place would be chaotic. Imagine 40,000 people trying to scan in straight after a game. People would just go f**k it and the government gets no revenue at all. It's not like you can have ticket inspectors on a packed train.

Are all events held there forced to pay for free travel?

^^ not sure on all events. Just know footy we pay as the ads originally tried to say tickets have "free travel" but were forced to change the wording as PT was actually prepaid - so not free.

Yeah pretty sure there is some state law that if an event is expected to be over a certain number attending then public transport must be included in ticket price.

Labor calling it a magnificent stadium through gritted teeth.
With the state's finances being so woeful thanks to a succession of poor treasurers, the Labor government can't afford to undersell their expensive asset. Bad enough that the Children's hospital is still empty.
