Went to the NRL games yesterday and we sat in the Premiership Terrace ( level 2 block 214) and gee they are good seats. You have your own bar, food outlets and toilets. Food setup was a bit different as you order the food at the bar, get a buzzer, wait for it to go off and then collect your food - but the food was the usual rubbish like most of the food is at the ground...been 3 times now and had 3 bad meals. Having your own bar is great and we never waited long at all. The standing area between the seats and the bar is a great area to watch the game and congregate with others. I think the Eagles has this area as a corporate area but the Dockers has this as Category 1 membership - anyone with a Dockers membership seat here will be very impressed.
The light display after each try in the 2nd game was very impressive - I assume the AFL will do the same after each goal.
I Did have a friend who sat in the “added in seats” down on the ground level (side line) and complained they were a pretty ave view for a premium seat.

If you don't count the millions that will flow yearly from the AFL, yes.so, at the end of the day, the stadium is up and running and not one dollar came from the Federal Govt or the AFL - yeh? is that the case?

I like your thinking, make your customers pay for your productive assett up front, then slug them for its use as well.
With the added in seats, do you know if the advertising boards were blocking the view?
At Westpac Stadium in Wellington, they have a similar type of added in seats, but don’t bother with them too much now as the advertising boards around the pitch get in the way.
It would have definitely been a case of, if we put in X amount, then we want y back as part owners. I am guessing they wanted the AFL as a customer, not a co owner. TThat's probably why the AFL didn't end up kicking anything in. I reckon they offered to but in return for certain rights, and it was declined.
The sunny seats will basically be in the same spots as at the MCG.Hey all, looking for some advice.
For those of us looking to come over in, say, mid August, to avoid the sun, we should be sitting anywhere in the north to the west, and maybe down as far as southwest in the stadium, would I be correct?
Not keen on being blinded you see!

The West Coast Eagles, in conjunction with Gloucester Park Harness Racing*, are pleased to offer West Coast Eagles members an exciting event and parking opportunity for the 2018 AFL season.
For $185, members can purchase the ability to park at Gloucester Park, located next to the Matagarup Bridge which, upon completion, will allow easy access by foot to Optus Stadium. It will also include a dedicated members area with access to exclusive offers and on-site food and beverage options.
Prior to the bridge's completion in mid-2018, members who park at Gloucester Park will be able to catch Transperth shuttle buses to Optus Stadium.
That may depend on who approached whom. If GP approached WCE they probably also approached Freo, but if WCE approached GP then the deal would only cover Eagles members. But then GP could be clever once they decide to go with WCE's proposal and propose similar to Freo.Gloucester Park are offering match day parking for eagles members for $185 for the season. Assume Dockers will have the same.
One would think which ever way it happened its going to be the same deal for both clubs anyway. That may depend on who approached whom. Still, if WCE approached GP it could even have been a "you'll get all the money from this but we want it exclusively as something our members get over the opposition's members" kind of thing. WCE only or nothing, take it or leave it. Competitive advantage. One would think which ever way it happened its going to be the same deal for both clubs anyway.
Belmont Park is doing parking for $20 a bay. Not sure if they will have the bar open or not.
Haven't heard of what the casino is doing yet.
Will almost always will get the train, but nice to know of a few options to park if needed.
I get what your saying but I can't see GP not opening itself up for parking on Dockers games. They will make a tidy profit each week. What would the eagles have to offer to stop them doing so and making it eagles only?Still, if WCE approached GP it could even have been a "you'll get all the money from this but we want it exclusively as something our members get over the opposition's members" kind of thing.
