"Matter of fact, I didn't even give you my coat."
Homer: Uh... you have any sugar around here?
Hank: Sugar? Sure. [fumbles in his pockets, takes out a few handfuls
of sugar] There you go. Sorry it's not in packages. Want some
cream?
Homer: Uh... I... no.

Edit just on that episode on teh snpp website. Some of the reviews are weird... Here's one.

Jason Hancock: I really didn't care too much for this episode. Maggie's
adventure in the Swing-a-Majig gave me the hardest laughs in this
episode, and there were a few smaller laughs here and there. But the
main plot began way too soon for me, with Homer getting the job right
off the bat, and there was a little too much violence at the end. (C)

WTF?

the principal and the pauper wasnt that bad of an episode... yes the ending was a cop out but they've done that before. and yes they've messed with continuity but.. well its the simpsons they've broken conventions before. its constantly labelled as the scapegoat or jump the shark moment but i dont agree

it had many funny moments.. like:

Homer: Okay, once more. Where are we going?
Edna: To Capital City.
Homer: And why are you and the old lady in the car?
Agnes: We're gonna talk Armin Tanzarian into coming back.
Homer: And why is Marge here?
Marge: I came up with the idea.
Homer: And why am I here?
Marge: Because the streets of Capital City are no place for three unescorted
ladies.
Homer: Why are the kids here?
Marge: Because we couldn't find Grandpa to sit for them.
Homer: Why is Grandpa here?
Abe: Because Jasper didn't want to come by himself!
Homer: fair enough.

personally i'm with Jabso. no particularly moment. up to season 8 was the golden age, up to season 14 were still some quality episodes but signs were there and there were some truly awful ones. when i first watched kill the alligator and run, it left a large emptey hole inside :(

So... I tackled a loafer at work today!

This Brad Bird bloke seems to have left the Simpsons before it started declining. He is a oscar winning director of many pixar films which seemed to be known for their charm and IMO The Simpsons, even visually have lost their charm. A lot of staff seem to work for Pixar now.

Greg Daniels was another who left after the mid to late 90s. Went onto do King of the Hill (still doing) and The Office (US, obviously). Also wrote the classic 'The Parking Space' episode of Seinfeld.

Probably need him back!
