I don't know for sure but I would have thought that the club didn't have the power to ask players to attend/watch/listen etc during their break.

However, I do think that the club would be authorized to advise the players after the event (they wouldn't do it before for confidentiality reasons) of such a significant appointment if they can get hold of them.

IMO the club has an obligation to advise players first by phone call, txt, email or what ever form necessary

Who knows this could be in process

Ahh okay, but regardless, it's one of like 4 or 5 different stories that are doing the rounds atm. Will be interesting to see if anyone on here who claims to be ITK actually comes out on top here. Or if they are all wrong and the club has this well and truly on the hush hush.

One thing about Bomber Thompson's refusal to even consider the Adelaide coaching job because it was his mate that was sacked from that position that sort of bugs me.

The most common reason that a coach departs from a club is that he is sacked. It's actually a normal part of football and a natural hazard of being a coach. Malthouse, Matthews etc and many other icon coaches of the game have said many times that the one certainty about coaching is that you will be sacked.

Adelaide are regarded as one of the big clubs of the comp and big clubs don't tolerate successive results of 11th and 10th for successive years. Throw into the equation all those crumbling losses of less than 2 goals and it was the non-surprise of the year that Sando got sacked. I didn't see it coming but in hindsight perhaps one should have.

Anyhow my point is this. I can't see why Thompson should see coaching Adelaide as a betrayal of his mate, as he had nothing to do with the sacking, and being sacked is almost as natural as breathing for an AFL coach.

I would have though he would have put on his big boy panties and jumped at the opportunity to coach a club with a promising future after letting his mate know that he was being offered an offer too good to refuse

Just my thoughts re Thompson.

More than likely that he really has no desire to be head coach again and finds it liberating to be able to shoot his mouth off with no consequence.

Like I've said before, I've observed him over the years and find his personality to be rather creepy and disturbing. I'm more than happy to not have him at the club.

Just thought I'd let you guys know Adam Kingsley was seen at the airport today. A good friend of mine seen him getting picked up by someone driving a Prado.

No idea what he was doing but thought you guys might appreciate the information.

There's one out of left field. Thanks for the info, but I would probably pass on him if I were making hte decision.

On the Adelaide Crows Pride Facebook page, someone's posted that they were at the Club today, and Nigel's very impressed and cocky, and has said an announcement will be made on Thursday.

Nigel's part 2 state guernsey or running for state liberal leadership...
