Classic BigFooty. Make up a bunch of exciting shit that is improbable and unrealistic, have a circle jerk for two weeks and then burn the club down when we it doesn't announce our jizz fest delusion.

I like this post...

...as a plan for the next fortnight.

Crows chairman Rob Chapman is not intending to rush the appointment of Adelaide’s new coach despite the recruiting market opening next week.

“We will not have a coach on Monday, but we will be very, very well prepared — and organised — for the trade period,” Chapman said yesterday.

“We have every faith in (football chief) David Noble and his recruiting team to fulfil our needs in the trade period. We are well advanced in that field.”

With no senior coach and no list manager, the demands on football chief David Noble are overflowing. He not only has to oversee Adelaide’s trade strategy — that again has midfielder and co-captain Patrick Dangerfield as hot property — but be part of the Crows panel seeking Adelaide’s seventh full-time coach.

Long time reader, first time poster.
New coach signing has brought me in.
I think that we are after Bolton, no source just looks like it and trying to connect the dots

And thanks all for providing great entertainment the last few days
welcome aboard mate. offseason is always fun... and this year is going to be griping viewing. Get a supply of popcorn.

I wonder how big the jump is from SANFL to the big league? In a head coaching sense.
For me that's my only reservation to Bass, managing the football department and having a a grade AFL plan.
The success and junior development program at the red legs looked the goods from the outside. Infact I would want him coaching on staff for that alone.

How can we be very, very well prepared and organised if we don't have a coach and our entire football department is up in the air?

We can't be.

I'm all for having a solid selection process for the new coaches, and one that isn't rushed, but don't expect anyone of note to want to come here or sign contract extensions if we don't have a coach or list manager during trade week.

I hope Nobes gets a holiday after new coach is on board and all trading/drafting done. Poor bastard must be exhausted.
Worked his ass off all year at multiple jobs.
Had a mate/colleague pass away.
Had to sit supervising another, possibly knowing he had to sack him, and then did have to see him sacked.
Had to oversee yet another - effectively taking his job whilst all the noises were made that nothing had changed.
Had his own boss move on and get himself a new one. Who he probably hasn't seen much yet.
Give the guy 2 months off!
(after resigning patty, sloaney and tex...)

No reservations. 2 sanfl flags, a year at essendon while the systems he put in place at Norwood won them another flag. He's up to the challenge. Plus probably have another dust up with smart.

Easily, Sando was in America one trade week. The Lakers filled their entire roster without a head coach just now.

You had me at dust up with smart, seriously heck that guy.

Let me guess - you thought we had the Tippett situation under control too?
Given the record of untried coaches in the AFL and the fact that we have not won a premiership for 16 years, I would lean more to somebody who has coached/played outside of the AFC with experience in the system sitting in the chair(not doing drills/shifting cones) - with all due respect our club needs a shift in the playing culture to a tougher and more resilient style. The last two seasons our playing style has deteriorated significantly, after the honeymoon period was over from Craig to Sanderson we saw big problems emerge. What I have been seeing is a lack of ability to execute skills, the defence has become a major issue with the development of defenders in the last two years being a major concern - sides are able to transition from defence to attack and score far too easily against Adelaide. Our players are now unable to bring the ball out of the defensive area under heat against the good sides. I would be strongly leaning to Brett Ratten who has experienced unrealistic expectations and has been working with the best coach in the AFL for 3 years now.

Ha ha - 2 days ago you were saying we need a coach in place by trade week - funny bugger you are sometimes
I still think we will, and the only reason I think it may be critical this year is because of the Jeremy Cameron rumours. We need a coach to land a big fish like that.
