The only way that assistant coaches will be released from their current contracts would be is they were offered a head-coach gig.
So either way we will need to find new / uncontracted assistants to put around our new coach.

Looking back at the Hawks at where it all began remember they had 5 years in the wilderness before doing anything of note. It takes time.

Just another guy with a source, but they hope to get the new coach settled before trade period opens, but can't guarantee, admitted it would be better with coach in place, but they are waiting for a few things to fall in place.

I think the main thing is settling the coaching panel before pre-season. I agree its not an ideal situation going into the trade period without a coach, but is a new coach really in the position to be making calls on trading?
I'd hope the AFC is offering a lot more to its players that can assure them we're a club worth staying at - If it's coming down to this announcement, we've probably already lost them.

Nice in theory, but Ling has already says he is staying in the media and was a close mate of Sando. Other two are possibles, but pretty sure Bunji is pretty happy doing his Indigenous program.

Mcleod is at the club and worked with (potential new coach) Bass at Norwood. Ling I'd love but appears destined for media. Jude has a very astute footy brain. Might be interested if Dew gets the nod.

Good evidence that just because you finish 10th and get a new coach, things dont just "get better". Often they get worse if you don't put the right people in place. No time for complacency, Fagan and Roo.
