Wow we have some blind people on this forum. We re-sign a coach for 2 years and sack him 9 months later at a cost of 1.2 million dollars. You think its great governace of our club to give it this financial hit? Then you would have thought that we had already had our new coach lined up but no we are headed into the trade period with no coach. Not only that but half the people we approached like Thompson, Worsfold etc dont want a bar of us.
Yeah it was done so well.
Nup. nothing like that amount. My info is that it was slightly less than half that figure due to the application of performance clauses etc. As Chapman quite correctly said, it's part of the cost of doing business. Sacking a coach is a pretty routine process for most clubs and always has been..
Agreed that it's a little bizarre that the Board approved a 2 year extension and then 8/9 months later approved the sacking of the same coach. However there is a whole football season in between those 2 events and a hell of a lot of things can and did go wrong in the period, and I don't think too many think that Sando was unjustly sacked.
