Its probably less about getting a senior assistant with coaching experience and more about getting quality assistants. I wouldn't mind Ratten, he seems to work well as an assistant. I would be concerned about Mark Neeld.

Why Neeld? Apparently a gun assistant when at the pies

His run with Melbourne freaked me out (and every Melbourne supporter I know). He worked well with Malthouse, but I might be concerned to bring him in with someone less experienced.

He was at the crows instead of dees different result IMO. Dees just have a shit culture and Roos will not be able to fix it!!

That would be my dream combination.

With McKenna sacked at GC, Blight might be available for a part-time role.

I'm surprised Blighty hasnt been mentioned more. Has history with Roo, and quite conceivable that they've gone after him.
I honestly think there's a pretty strong chance he ends up involved next year.

So how are we tracking so far?

Director of Coaching: David Noble
Head Coach: David Noble
Senior Assistant: David Noble
Forward Coach: David Noble
Midfield Coach: David Noble
Defense Coach: Darren Milburn
Ruck Coach: David Noble
Head of Fitness: David Noble

Wow that looks promising. Why are players not lining up to join this club?

I've constructed our coaching panel going forward based on what has happened with jobs that have opened up at the AFC in recent times.

Now I know why we have been called the Chardonnay Set, being so Noble and the like.;)

I am sure that we will start our search for a coach once we have gone through the complicated procedure of making David Noble promote David Noble to the position of 'head of everything' whilst effectively replacing 12 David Nobles.
Chris Fagan to be announced on the panel after Saturday night.(Hawthorn Best and Fairest).

Senior Asst should be chosen by the head coach, this decision needs to be his discretion on who he wants to bring in as his right hand man

I didn't think that O'Keefe would be a line coach, I believe he was moving into a development role. Also, why would we want Bluey McKenna? Didn't he just get the sack for similar reasons to Sando? Couldn't get along with the PG? If we are changing/developing a better culture, that will be a driver in all areas of recruitment, including communication and naturally all the required coaching skills. Just a thought.
