there was a time when I compared Liam Jones' stats to Travis Cloke at the same age. Boy do I feel like a d|ck.

Footy fans eye for talent > stats

Footy fans eye for talent = subjective
Stats = objective

If we're going off "eye for talent" then you have nothing in support of your argument except "that's the way I see it". The way I see it is that Brown and Stringer are both talented young KPFs who have shown a fair bit, personally I like that Brown has already proven himself as a player who can have an impact in finals, something Stringer is yet to get a chance to do. There's a good chance Stringer will be the more accomplished player in the long run - you'd certainly hope so, given the respective differences in where they were drafted.

When I said he reminds me of Garry Ablett Snr, not that he is as good as him. More about his style, people do take it the wrong way. Chris Johnson believes the same thing...

Statistically they're at about the same level, so unless you have something other than biased opinion to dole out I'm not really going to take this too seriously. Has Jake Stringer ever kicked four goals in a final to spark a comeback win? Do yourself a favour and manage your expectations a little. Stringer has had a great start to the year and I expect him to kick on but he is not God's gift to football just yet.
I am amazed how every North supporter on here mentions this like it was never done before....lol

Can't imagine there are a whole lot of key forwards in history who have kicked four goals to spark a finals comeback win inside their first 10 games at AFL level. Given your implication that it's a fairly common occurrence, I'm sure you'll be able to provide me with an extensive list of others who've achieved such a feat.

Was never mentioned by your supporters by way of age, it was he did actually do it, hard to compare when Stringer has not played a final yet...

Ben Brown = handy 2nd forward and will possibly kick a few hundred goals in his career.
But FFS..... Jake Stringer will probably kick the same amount of goals whilst still spending considerable amounts of time barrelling through the midfield. The guy spends so much time up forward right now due to the sheer necessity for the Dogs who have a dearth of KPPs. Once they fix that shortage, Stringer will be a monster through the middle that very few teams will be able to deal with.

Let's settle the Brown vs Stringer debate:

Dogs offer Stringer to Norf - straight swap for Brown.

What would be the Roos' reaction?

He can do it all can Stringer - burst through the middle, take big marks, kick goals.

He's got the full parcel.

Yes, the PARCEL.

He's a very special player THE PARCEL (™ me 2015)

Hes good but hes no Jesse Hogan.

Although listening to BT you'd think Stringer was the greatest player of the modern era (assuming you also had no brain like BT)

I love the idea of having Bontempelli, Stringer and Libba in the guts for the last five minutes of a crunch final. Or swap Libba for Macrae and have three 191cm+ blokes in there.

If you cant squeeze Wallis in there you are doing it wrong

At the moment he's better than Hogan. Done much more.
What a bizarre comparison. Not only has Stringer got about 30 games experience on Hogan, but this season Hogan is averaging more SC and DT points than Stringer anyway. So while it's debatable that Stringer is the better player (I'd consider him more versatile), it's still a stupid comparison considering the experience gap. If you want a fair comparison between the two, let's compare Stringer's first 10 games with Hogan's and we're getting somewhere.

Or maybe we could just compare Boyd and Hogan? A far better comparison considering their age and no. of games played.

I was responding to a post that made the comparison. Keep up.
