I rate Bana as an actor, but it's hard to see that he would be the best person for the role. I would have thought Hugh Jackman or Jude Law would have been more suited.

Eric Bana has been chosen to take on the role made famous by men like Sean Connery, Roger Moore and more recently by Pierce Brosnan.

Bana is a bit more lower class and filthy than a Bond should be. I can't see him swirling a martini and seducing some busty wench with a double entendre name whilst winning at baccarat in Monte Carlo.

actually bana addressed these rumors a few months ago

Meanwhile Bana, the star of The Hulk and Troy, reportedly told The World Entertainment News Network that he has not been approached to star in Bond 21 – and that's fine by him. "That's not something I've ever really contemplated," says Bana, "no, I wouldn't be a Bond, no."

i'd love to see the new bond infiltrate the enemy base by getting a mullet wig, a flannelette shirt and a can of VB and **** talking his way into the compound... would be sensational...

Exactly.

I remember when some unknown prat called Finley Light was supposed to be the next Bond when Dalton eventually got it. Was even interviewed stating how great it was.. oops.

I was watching the news today and Bana said he would never accept the role of James Bond, so I doubt there's much fuel to this rumour.
