Looking at the whole chess board, I must admit that if Putin was looking for an 'out' of the Ukranian conflict entirely, having his buddy Prighozin loudly and publicly say that Shoigu lied to Putin and Russia about the need for a Ukranian invasion gives him a believable scapegoat.

I do not think that's likely, though.
