But but but, I only get paid well to train highly specialised units to protect school yards...

this is exactly what black budgets look like.. classified, from another department, no chance of oversight. they’re not all super secret galaxy space unionist programs.
Yes exactly.

DEA "Reward".

Lol.

It's very similar to some aspects of Central America in the 80s.

Also reality. As one of them says, China practices destroying command and control all the time, the Yanks just pretend it didn't happen in their wargaming.
China also doesn’t have a blue water navy, so first defence would be hyper sonic intercontinental ballistic missiles. Not much point talking or theorising about anything else.
Reality is if they were to go to war, the next one would be fought with sticks and stones..

Interesting. Also interesting that she points to Bush (2) era entrapment practises in Muslim communities as part of the lead up to this Russiagate stuff and a problem even then as the FBI basically invented terrorist plots to target vulnerable individuals who otherwise would have had nothing to do with them. As a way to remain relevant by showing their GWoT success. It's a form of predatory law enforcement (makes sense given how predatory so much of US capitalism is I guess). I remember that stuff happening at the time but never thought it would lead to this sort of thing.

Nah, there will be a limited war to test hegemony over the western Pacific.

Either China can run the US out of its hood or it can't.

Both sides need to know.

Oh that would just be about the craziest thing China could do.
They don’t have their own semi conductor tech and companies like Xilinx and Microsemi will have a field day.
and it’s not just the chips, it’s the encrypted ip that’s valuable and immeasurable.

this would cause a trump style nationalistic wet dream and bring the manufacturing process home for board layouts.

VIPS open letter to president, they know how quickly things can escalate and targeting civilians during a pandemic could mean any support they had will quickly diminish. ferball I think you’re rig by Ven will be next on the US hit list.

The US needs the oil. Shale oil will probably become unviable soon unless prices rise, and that leaves the US with few options. Deepwater wells run at the very limits of what we're capable of doing with engineering, they are probably unreliable and vulnerable but Venezuela's oil isn't.

Venezuela doesn't really have any reliable friends either. There is no one within half a world who could help them and a bunch of fascist scum ready to roll thru the place. You can see the potential for a return to 80s death squads with full us covert backing as well, both in Venezuela and Brazil.

The USA have just dropped theyve deployed low yield nukes on their submarines. The threat of miscalculation has just gone up tenfold.

talking about weapons systems USS Portland showed off it’s new solid state laser that took down an unmanned drone.
tipping the saudis will be one of the first orders keeping those pesky drones at bay.
