During the interview he mentions that he said thus publicly and as a result no one in the MSM will talk to him and he us considered a kooky conspiracy theorist.

I wonder how much of what he talks about is not actually bioweapons research but is actually attempting to find ways to stop these viruses. To me that's a reasonable motivation for China's involvement in the NC Chapel Hill work, but of course all iof this stuff will be used for weapons. China has already had to deal with these outbreaks recently, has a long history of them and still has those markets and many places where human animal interactions happen in a context of high populations and densities of both and poor hygiene practises.

He is definitely not a supporter of the US regime. It's more likely he'd be on Jones' show 15 years ago than now IMO. (Back then Jones said most Muslims were being treated as patsies by the Bush admin, today he says they are evil.). He is not a big fan of us bioweapons programs or those level 4 facilities and says repeatedly thru the interviews that they are primarily weapons facilities and should be shut down, and the people overseeing these programs arrested under the legislation he wrote. So I think that is a big part of his motivation. The bio terrorism laws he drafted were passed over 30 years ago and if anything things are worse now than then.

So much of this interview is framed as China making bioweapons but at the end Boyle makes a point of framing this as an accidental release.

He even cites a paper that makes that claim.

I find it hard to believe that someone who is calling for the closure of BIosecurity level4 labs in the US and the arrest of the people who run them under bioterror legislation is running cover for a US attack.

Boyle made claims about the post 9/11 anthrax attacks (attacks that were sus as *,) claims that don't even get mentioned on his wiki page. He accused the FBI of destroying evidence and covering up the actual source (ie not Irvins). Back then the only people who listened to him were as credible as Jones. Nothing he said has been shown to be false.

Jones has the biggest reach/market. He is probably a limited gang out op but in many ways those types all are. Daniel Hopsicker reckons Whitney Webb is a compromised source for example. But they all are. They all get that info from people who are using them to serve their own agendas.

Julian Assnge is a non compromised source, look what happened to him.

What is genuinely scary is that non state actors will have the ability to do this stuff soon if they don't already now.

At some point some loopy campaigner will decide Mother Earth needs him or her to wipe out humanity to save all the other life on the planet and within a similar time frame to this billions will die.

That's gonna happen in my kids lifetime, hopefully not in mine but it probably will.

To argue that Maduro, in particular, hasn't been an authoritarian dictator is just not credible. Chavez was a charismatic populist who used high oil prices and large reserves to distribute wealth in the country without ever setting the economy up in a sustainable way. At the same time, he was an authoritarian who stacked the courts and suppressed the media. He did respect elections. There is no way you can make the same claim about Maduro. He is a tyrant.

It’s early, but this is how I am thinking about it. For governments looking for tools to hone their authoritarianism—regimes who want to get more control, or get more visibility into their citizens’ lives—the coronavirus is an issue like “fake news” or cybersecurity or terrorism that can been used to justify enhanced powers. For a sufficiently authoritarian government, the barrier to knowing where everyone is all the time is basically just cost.

In democratic contexts, it’s cost, plus getting over whatever oversight or checks are built into the system. We are going to hear more and more that we have to implement these tracking methods so we can go on about our lives.
