Regarding Australia’s case against Russia for MH17. Can someone (reasonably) explain why our foreign policy is to antagonise China and Russia? At the start of the invasion Azov released a video showing them greasing bullets with pig fat and saying "this is for the Chechens when they get here."

Since they are alleged to have got to Mauripol civilian convoys are now able to leave the city whereas they weren't previously. We all assume its because the Russians wouldn't let them, (despite some evidence from pro Ukrainian sources implying its the Ukrainian military, in this case Azov which is or was holding Mauripol, that was preventing the civilians from escaping.) Maybe we are wrong about that assumption.

No they wouldn’t kidnap kids. There’s probably the odd psychopath that would but that’s it.

Don’t be naive, they wanted to take the kids hostage. You’ve spent all this time being disgusted about Azov, at least be equally disgusted at these guys. They have a history of kidnapping, torture and murder and rape.
