I think it reflects well on the Bulldog's recruiting/scouting Dept - They picked up players EFC wouldn't/couldn't draft.

And don't forget that Grant as Bendigo coach brought over Tory Dickson from Frankston/Noble Park.

Recruiting is a sum of a number of parts.

By existing, I meant pre-Grant/McCartney. Obviously the new setup would have favoured targets but that's a substantial chunk of their draft take based on these two guys.

My thoughts exactly. Maybe could take over from Horse down the track (provided Longmire's team continues to improve).

Thing is, when would that be? The guy shows no real signs of being in decline.

It's really hard to predict as players get older. Matthew Richardson had probably his second best season at age 33 then tore his hamstring at the start of the next and that was the end of him.

I disagree. Keep in mind they took 10 players, the 4th & 7th of them were ex-BBers.
More that their list (at least at the end of last year) just needed a rebuild, and Dickson & Campbell were solid, relatively cheap late options.
Still need more rebuilding, so I imagine they will be looking at others running around the VFL.
