If Walker gets anything less than a month for that it's a pure and utter disgrace.

FFS, people defending the sling tackle or the spear tackle are out of their minds. To tackle in this game you use your own weight to bring the other player down. There's no need to drive them into the dirt.

Having said that though, the player wasn't injured so it'll be interesting to see how the MRP judges it using their sophisticated judging tools.

Wasn't the first dirty thing he did.

Last week, he pushed a defender's shoulder into the goalpost even after the ball clearly went over the line. It was a deliberate attempt to cause injury. Can't believe such a dog act went unnoticed by the umpires.

Deserves everything he gets for this 'tackle'. No respect from me.

I hate that it will probably get downgraded because of the lack injury to Morris, it's such a backwards resulted oriented mentality that a panel, in charge of such things that can have direct impact on games with the length of sentences being handed out shouldn't have. It is typical though given how reactionary the AFL is.

It's madness. What happens when something really desperately serious happens, and then the player who does it says "Well, I did it before and didn't get suspended, so I did it again."

They're responsible for whatever mess comes of spear and sling tackling. And something will happen, rest assured.

I hope Brisbane absolutely obliterate Melbourne.

Looks a beautiful day up in Brisbane... quite a contrast to here down south!

Spot on, the exact same tackle in the exact same situation could happen again except the player tackled could do some serious neck damage and it will be assessed much harsher because of the result even though there's no difference, it's just a really illogical way to assess something.

Been arguing the same for at least a year.

Its all about head, but there is nothing sure,r that if a player damages a shoulder/arm/ribs, the tackler will be suspended.

What it utterly baffling is the fact it was given HTB. The ****?

Geez it would have been nice to have a fully fit Gumby for next weeks game against an under sized St Kilda defense.

Oh well, Ryder, Crameri and Hurley will have to do :)
