I enjoyed watching that game tonight, made me feel alot better knowing we are a better team than both of them. Can't wait to play Sydney in Melbourne for once and beat those cheating pricks.

Carlton going through their little early season good form patch (much like last year when they defeated Geelong & St Kilda in a matter of weeks) - still just a side, as evidenced by their complete failure to take advantage and beat Essendon despite having an extra two players for three quarters and again relying on one man Chris Judd to get them over the line. It won't last but let the delusionals talk up their premiership chances and certain top 4 finish - it will make it sweeter when they fail... again.

As for the Eagles... let's just not get too excited about them just yet either. 15 other sides would of beaten Melbourne by a similar or bigger margin on Thursday Night given the insipid way they played. They will fancy their chances next week after their rare Melbourne win against Essendon last year (thanks solely to the one man show of Le Cras and the insipid coaching of a man I'd rather not talk about), but we're a different team this year and I expect we'll be pretty fired up and ready to atone for that woeful game last season. Hird won't make those same mistakes the previous coach did.

We hate Carlton yes but sometimes credit has to be given. Last night after half time was a great performance by the baggers. Chris Judd is simply a champion and Duigan, Laidler and Curnow have proved to be very handy pick ups. They could do a lot of damage in september providing number 5 is out there.

Judd is Carlton, purely and simply. Limit his influence, you're half way towards winning IMO. Had a super, super game last night.

Forced to change into an inside midfielder as the Blues are full of outside mids (Gibbs, Murph, Scotland, etc), and has done so spectacularly.

Off topic from the last few posts at least, but, considering Richmond has now earned the same amount of points as us (10), and the fact that most people consider Richmond to be the bottom-feeders of the AFL and all the hype regarding the big signings we acquired managerial wise during the off season, heres hoping the coaches are well on top of the whole "taking it easy against Gold Coast" thing! Lets not forget Richmond has played thus Far, Carlton, St.Kilda, Hawthorn and Collingwood. To be level on points after tomorrow's game would be a fricking embarrassment. So, find a bookie and put your money on Essendon by over 100pts! Hirdy will have the boys breathing fire all day tomorrow.

Saints will struggle to play finals this year.... Blues and Hawks will be licking their lips over the next 2 weeks.

Richmond's two wins have been over Brisbane (17th) in Melbourne and North Melbourne (17th until today, now sitting at the lofty heights of 14th). The other two premiership points they acquired were against the Saints, who we beat by the best part of 10 goals.

They were also beat convincingly by Carlton, who we managed to snare two premiership points from with several well documented injury concern/s during the game, and were smashed by 13 goals against Collingwood whilst we were ultra competitive and within a goal with ten minutes to go.

Richmond are the least of our concerns. They have two very tough games against Fremantle & Western Bulldogs (who they haven't defeated in 9 games) before their annual Grand Final against us in Dreamtime. Like recent years they will build that game up beyond belief, especially if we win our next few like we're expected too. That gap will widen, starting tomorrow.

Oh and I forgot to mention a couple of names...

Brad Miller. Bachar Houli.

LOL.

Thanks for finding the weakness in my argument. Still, I'd be bloody disappointed if we somehow find ourselves level with Richmond after 6 rounds. I guess all I was trying to convey was the significance of this round, despite the inexperience of our opposition. It's an old adage, but, every point/win is going to count despite the fact that it is so early in the season. Hope the Bomber lads understand that! (It's probably just nervous energy on my behalf, we really should win comfortably!) :)
