Really?
You must be the only one who's noticed that. Well done, thanks for reminding me.

Gee really?
Thanks for pointing that out. No-one else noticed.

So why highlight the sentence from my post - Stating that he is a midfielder - When we both know that most mid spend some time in the forward line.

Finding a way to disagree - When there is nor reason?

Absolutely disgraceful match played tonight by the Saints and Bulldogs, very low standard.

Was clanger central out there, some of the easiest kicks missing targets, in addition it was stop-start football with many ball-ups/free kicks.

I want my night back please!

Love how people talk about Brent Harvey's selfishness or lack of selfishness.

Has survived as a small man because he is highly skilled, clean ball handler, good reader of the play, high level speed and most importantly puts his HEAD OVER THE BALL.

Hahaha Yaco at his best. Think he may want to have another go at that one...

So you play 312 games - win 5, B and F - And you have been selfish all your career - Fairly certain that selfish players dont win multiple B and F's.

For the record, I don't think he's a selfish player.

Yeah young Nathan Buckley, he was quite the team player at Brisbane when he came 6th in the Brownlow, wasn't he.

Ridiculous argument, yaco.

Agree

You know better than the coaching staff at the Kangaroos.

If you can't understand what I'm saying, I'm wasting my time.
Taken you that long to figure out?

Dees had their GF against us. The amount of fist-pumping for beating a mid-table side in June was unbelievable.
Totally believable that they got totally ahead of themselves based on it, though.

Bailey's a dud - hopefully the win over us locked in a contract for him - won't be a threat with him there.

Totally agree on Harvey captain - you just don't have small forwards/chipscabs captain.

Harvey is selfish, but hell he is very accurate.

Well it is often better that he takes a shot for goal - You wouldn't give it to Lindsay Thomas.;)

Brent Harvey's ninja kick goal just epitomises how selfish he is.

Captain my arse.

It was touched before he got to it to he actually needed to kick that goal.

Boomer is also third on the all-time goal assists table, hardly the actions of a hungry player.

Anyway, every team would have forwards reliable around goal who are instructed to take the shot. Brad Scott has said clearly that he instructs Boomer to kick goals.

Only because you had the greatest player of all time.

I deleted that post as I felt 'your board' etc. But given you responded ...

People seem to act as if Carey was some gift given to North and all our success in the 90s should be discounted. They forget we recruited him, we developed him from a 17 year old, we built excellent game plans, we held onto him in the face of massive offers from other clubs etc.

By your logic, should Michael Long's (another great of the game like Boomer) 2000 medal not count because his captain was James Hird, one of the best players ever?

I've seen the replay a few times and I didn't notice it being touched, so if that's the case, my bad.

He's still a selfish player in my eyes, though. One of the worst in the league, let alone for the captain of a club.

Swallow. Now there's a man I'd love to see leading your club.

Yeah, you can see that whoever the GC player is (forgive my memory lapse) gets a finger to it and puts his hand up to indicate he's touched it.

I think you have to balance Boomer's "selfishness" with the benefits of him kicking plenty of goals. First is we actually get the goals - in a team that has lost at least two games from inaccuracy (against the Swans and Richmond) we need the goals.

Also, Boomer's goals tend to lift the team and bring momentum our way. The fact is he plays pretty much as goal kicking half forward these days. he's just doing his job.

As for Spitta, I expect you'll see him captaining us very soon, perhaps even next year, but more likely, the year after. I can see a situation where Boomer hands over but plays on occurring, similar to what happened when Adam Simpson handed it over.

Never let facts get in the way of a good story.;)

Think one or two posters have been owned.
