Seems like last week was nothing personal, it's just the umps love North.

Yeah, that's what I thought when Simon Black threw the ball with both hands to cost us the game. Its also what I thought when Luke Shuey dived headfirst into Liam Anthony's knees and was paid a free for high contact, to cost us the game. I couldn't help but think how much the umps love us when Dustin Martin sat on the ball for five minutes and then when he was tackled, got a free for in the back, which cost us the game.

Clearly the umpires are like well meaning parents. They love us so much they want us to earn things the hard way and believe that denying us a spot in the 8 is the best thing for us in the long run.

It was a 3 kick result.

That's the rule though, they have no choice. Terrible rule, but paid the same every time, to expect them to forget it purely cos your result is on the line is laughable.

I'm going to say this as gently as possible because it is your board and I respect that. But the reality is the last few weeks have shown that North is a lot better than most think and that Essendon has a lot of work to do.

Anyway, this is touchy ground and I'm probably starting to talk out of turn. I'll just say that Port got an armchair ride from the umps in the first half yesterday and we still killed them.

Playing much better footy currently, but let's be honest - 4 of your 6 or 7 wins are against the bottom 3 or 4 sides (2 x Port, Adelaide, GC) and you haven't beaten a top 6 side. Within a kick of Sydney but so were we, gallant loss is still 0 points.

Can you honestly predict even 3 or 4 more wins for the season???
I had a look at the draw, Siants Pies L L; 50/50 Dogs, win Bris, Carl Hawks L L, 50/50 Freo, St K L, Rich 50/50.

What does ring true though - either you lot, us, Tigs, or Dees - there will be a pretty poxy side in the 8. Again.

EDIT - Port are hardly a scalp, they lost to GC.
EDIT 2 - only the most optimistic supporters ever thought we didn't have a lot of work to do. The top end is ~8th material; below that is where there's more work to be done. Main job for Hird, Bomber Welly et al is to make sure this bunch of kids learn the right way and replace the older blokes on merit.

2 weeks in a row now, your opponent has been crucified, costing one of them 4 points. Let's see how long the trend continues.

Seriously? Port got everything in the first half against us. Everything.

That black throw was a terrible decision and it cost North the game, no doubt about it. That was the key goal which got Brisbane over the line.

In the Carlton/WCE game yesterday there was another obvious throw missed by the umps which led to a WCE goal in the 2nd qtr. How the **** do they keep missing this shit?

btw, how good is it when Carltank lose, hey

It put Brisbane 8 points up, and there was a fair few (HS quotes 10) minutes left. Had North been good enough they would've kicked 2 more goals, they weren't. End of.

To be fair, Sydney had the umpires with them in both our game and the North game.

The umpiring in the North game was disgraceful, almost single-handedly took the game away from them.

Cheers. We certainly got a few good ones against you guys but nothing game changing for mine. But you also missed shots you should have kicked. Such is footy.

And yes, when carlton loses, normal people rejoice.

Disagree. I thought the first half was pretty good, apart from a missed 50m penalty each, but the second half North got away with blue murder. 1/4 blatant throws called for instance.

I was watching it with one-eyed North fans pointing out everything that didn't go your way as well.

So you guys were robbed because of one incident in a 3 kick contest, but we weren't because of 8+ incidents in a 3 kick contest?

Okey mete.

Makes our win (which should have been 40+ points) over the Eagles look even more impressive.

Agree

That is one win that cant be argued was unimpressive - because defeated sides have gone backwards from 2011.

Great win by the WC.

Play 3 talls who are forwards - Coaching panel please take note.

Yeah, but Darling and Kennedy tackle and press like small forwards.

But even if we had Lloyd and Lucas in their prime next to Hurley, we still wouldn't have what West Coast do.

Good players adapt to their environment - And learn to be a vital piece of the press.

Oh what a shame...

The Tin Rattlers were outmuscled and outclassed by the... Saints. LOL. Even though they didn't even score in the final quarter! Capped off the near perfect weekend.

Collingwood next week for those "Shinboners" - *thud*

Thanks for the spot in the top 8!
