That's bullshit if true.

Yep. West Coast didn't want to pursue it, so Petterd gets off.

If I was playing on Petterd this week, I'd be saying before the first bounce "Patrick McGinnity ****ed your mum". Clearly it gets under his skin.

Hmm. I want to see some confirmation as to where the HUN got their headline from, which of course means they heard some hobo say it outside Southern Cross station.

I don't know what to believe. You and me both.

I think just about everybody with a sense of sportsmanship does. But the tanking thing's been done.

It's not even about the tanking. It's the arrogance the permeates their mediocre existence. Max Gawn is tall so he must be a gun. We picked Jack Fitzpatrick so he must be a gun. We have enough rucks for the future.

Your list is mediocre, your club is softer than Bachar Houli and you won't win a flag with this team.

Go and cry to the umps because the man said something mean.

Surely, after all the scrutiny placed on them, with all of their talented draft picks, they couldn't still be playing this badly?

Shitness ingrains itself deep, and becomes part of the fabric of a club.

Look at Richmond.

Any surprise though? The AFL have not really created a scene where it's worth the Demon's while to do their best. "Tank all you like, here's some money." 18 year old kids coming into the system don't know any better.

I just feel sorry for Jim Stynes. He deserves a better football club. One with a heart and a pair of balls.

Nah, he was there when they were tanking wasn't he?

If so, he's just as responsible as everybody else.

I think he caught the end of their tanking period.

Either way, a courageous man like him deserves better than being represented by a bunch of fairies.

According to Wiki he took over during the middle of 2008, so the damage was probably done with that draft, but he still could've changed things in 2009.

He has my sympathy as a person, but he was still ultimately the head of a club that produced the most blatant example of tanking in the history of this sport.

Carlton are the only ones to break the habit. Judd:tanking culture as Kryptonite:Superman, I guess.

Ah, but Carlton didn't necessarily send itself down their to start with. They suffered massively as a result of their stinking cheating ways, and were brought to their knees. They were just smart enough to capitalise on it.

As much as it pains me to say it, Carlton is a sustained winning culture. Their rise back to the top was an inevitability. Same goes for whenever Collingwood are down and out, and Essendon as well. It looks like West Coast and Geelong have joined those ranks as well.

They're having a big whinge over nothing. There's defending your player but to me Mcginnity got a slap on the wrist and the visual footage looks pretty bad. I just can't believe a grown man would bag someone via their mum. That's year 7 stuff.
Someone made a good point about how you could pretty much get away with anything in the "good old days" but that you could also expect reprisals later in the game.
Maybe they should introduce hockey style one on one fights.

Well in light of what they're claiming was said in the paper now it's an even bigger let off. Wow to me that's worse than racist remarks.

McGinnity's Manager ex player David Sierakowski comes across a tool.

Quoted in the article - Claiming that Petterd is soft - Think Sierakowski should worry about his own player.

Gotta say that AFL players are fairly disciplined on field - not to drop a player - considering the sledges that occur.

It's not true.

I hope the papers apologise then. ;)

If West Coast and McGinnity didn't bother pursuing Petterd over his comments, they won't bother with the papers.

They have bigger fish to fry this year.

I'm not watching the game, only following the scores online, but is the Hawthorn/Carlton game really tight and hard or just bad? I don't see how 2 top 4 teams can score twice as many behinds than goals at Etihad.
