RODNEY Eade has spoken to the umpiring department about the treatment of Tom Lynch, believing the full-forward got a raw deal against North Melbourne last Saturday.

Eade did not elaborate on the discussions, but said he felt the umpires missed up to five free kicks against the Kangaroos.
It's a bloody miscarriage of justice I tell ya. Cunners obviously attempting to break Ablett's back. Spitta seemingly trying to dislocate Riskytelly's shoulder. Boomer seemingly forcing Saad to run too fast for his own wellbeing. And our defenders clearly behaving immorally and unethically towards Lynch. I hope the club takes this seriously and offers the 4 points to the Suns as a gesture of contrition.

Arden St is stained forevermore.

Gotta wonder how many free kicks Drew would be owed over the years then for the treatment he's received from defenders.
Don't worry. I'm sure Rocket will be highlighting both sides of things, for the sake of the game.

Confused by this on the AFL site:
"RICHMOND star Brett Deledio has defended his club's recruiting, saying the Tigers have the list to win a premiership."

I always thought you had to make the finals to win a premiership.....
Seriously why does that club keep on bringing up Premiership talk? It's not the 1970s. If I had any connection to Richmond I'd be embarrassed.

And how the **** would Delidio know what a premiership list looks like?

Revealed: What Hamish Hartlett told Chris Scott during Port Adelaide’s melee with Geelong

PORT ADELAIDE midfielder Hamish Hartlett has revealed he told Geelong coach Chris Scott to “worry about his own mob” during Saturday night’s fiery encounter.

Hartlett and Scott were seen exchanging words at quarter time following a lengthy melee, which resulted in $14,500 worth of fines dished out by the MRP.

Scott had earlier spoken to senior players Joel Selwood and Patrick Dangerfield and had told them to settle the spotfires, before making contact with Hartlett.

Speaking on Triple M, Hartlett said Scott had told an umpire that “this had gone on for too long” and that “we need to take control of the situation”.

That resulted in Hartlett firing back at the Cats coach.

“There was sort of a bit going on and emotions were running pretty high so I just said ‘just worry about your own mob’,” Hartlett said.

“Which he ended up doing and doing it pretty well by the looks of things.”

Geelong overturned a 24-point quarter time deficit to win the match by 48 points, booting six goals to zip straight after the melee.

Out of form Collingwood key forward Travis Cloke set for massive pay cut due to incentive-based contract

COLLINGWOOD’s out of form key forward Travis Cloke is facing a massive pay cut next year as a result of his incentive-based contract.

Cloke, who is paid close to $800,000 in 2016, is set to be paid hundreds of thousands of dollars less in 2017 because of the conditional deal he signed in 2012.

While Cloke held out that year and was rewarded with a five-year deal, Collingwood indicated then that the contract contained significant triggers that would determine his pay rate in the final year.

It is understood that Cloke will be on a base less than half of his 2016 wage and that he will not be able to earn anything like this year’s salary because the conditions involved high finishes in the best and fairest and other performance clauses.

These incentives are believed to be over the course of the first four years of the contract, making it impossible for the former All-Australian and premiership forward to trigger the bonuses.

Cloke, 29, is among the top 25 paid players in the competition this year but has struggled for form and Cloke himself has admitted he needs to rediscover his love of the game. He was dropped to the VFL and missed the ANZAC Day game but managed just two goals and five disposals as the Pies were thumped by the Bombers in the reserves.

Cloke is expected to remain in the VFL for at least another week in an attempt to find form, while the Magpies will retain giant American recruit Mason Cox who made his eventful debut on ANZAC Day kicking the first goal of the match.

The Pies insist that Cloke remains important to them and that they want to work him back into the team in the coming weeks.

Cloke’s reduced salary for 2017 arguably makes him more viable as a trade asset if Collingwood or he believe he needs a fresh start next season.

Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley said on Monday that Cloke would be given as much time in the VFL as necessary to prove his worth to the senior side, but that Cloke would remain important to the Pies.

“The discussions I’ve had with him were about getting back to enjoying his footy and finding that ‘first to the contest’ (mentality) that’s missing at the moment,” Buckley said on AFL 360.

“We’ll give him as much opportunity as we need to at VFL level to get that back to prove he’s worth coming back in.

“I think Trav can still be a really damaging player in this competition. I think he’s going to be very important for us as our year progresses.”

Cloke finished ninth in Collingwood’s best and fairest in 2015 and booted 34 goals, his lowest total since 2009. He was seventh in the best and fairest in 2014 and placed fourth in 2013 when he kicked 68 goals in what was his last season as a truly dominant key forward.

Cloke was the subject of interest from Carlton and Fremantle in 2012 when he was 25 and in his prime. He did not sign until late in the season in a protracted negotiation with the club.

Collingwood are missing a few brain cells if they think that being Collingwood means they are subject to extra pressure.

The only reason that Collingwood is subject to extra pressure, if at all, is because they continue to ram down everyone's throats how big and powerful they are. So naturally, people get sick of it and want to see them fail.

And FWIW, I know I'd rather be playing finals with 40k members than sitting September out with 70k members.

Two players they traded for and both wont play a game this year.

St Kilda coach Alan Richardson has stated that Freeman won't play for the Saints this season as he continues to "bullet-proof" his body ahead of the 2017 season.

“I just want him to be ready to go by the end of the year for next year,” Alan Richardson said.

“So no (he won’t play for St Kilda in 2016), because this year was all about bullet proofing his body so he can have a long and successful career for us.

“He’s had a few hiccups which we expected so we will be really conservative with Nathan. He has some tremendous attributes and that’s why we got him.”

Freeman will miss spend the next two weeks in rehab after another minor hamstring injury.
