Being contracted doesn't stop you from being traded. Does mean you can turn down a trade, but if Sydney come knocking they can all still agree to a trade.

Weird that in a league where huge contract lengths never work out that WC would give a player 6 years.

I genuinely don't even understand the rationale for them asking. Players retire all the time for various reasons, since when does the league hand out picks for ANY of them?

It's the "We're Carlton" mentality. It's an old mentality, but what they fail to understand, is that nobody gives a s**t anymore other than them.
