If the AFL really want to run themselves like a business - and they seem to want to - then you'd write off the sunk costs of the McGold Coast experiment and walk away.

Starbucks dramatically pulled back their involvement in Australia when they realised no one gave a **** about them. Considering Starbucks are probably the blueprint Gillan follows for a successful league maybe he can follow their lead about knowing "when to fold".

Trouble is everyone else is bankrolling this corporate wank. Including clubs like us being consigned to s**t fixtures and heavy travel arrangements to enable the league to maximise 'big 4' club commercial exposure.
