2 of those 4 big men he took in the second round (picks 47 and 60) he just swapped for a guard that went at number 8 last year. I'd say that's a pretty good result. And one of the remaining 2 big guys he traded for 2 future second rounders, which can be used either in the draft or as part of trade.

So all up I'd say he did pretty well with all those second rounders.
I guess if you consider 4.4ppg at 36% a good result I can't argue with that.

We have gone early though, we now have to do something and throw money and faith at someone otherwise this cock-up becomes even more of a joke. I'm not sure what the best plausible outcome would be. Lawson?

He's going to be very clever and very useful for the right team. 76's have gotten away with highway robbery.
Take your bland cynicism elsewhere.
Yes, because people can't have opinions on players. Let's all rate all players as wonderful to avoid cynicism.

It is odd though that given your cynical rants in the last few pages you'd chastise others.

There is a difference between writing off a rookie who barely got a chance and you have no idea about, and a fan venting deserved frustration at a franchise making humiliating mistakes which throws it's direction and identity under the bus for the umpteenth time.
Be objective.

Off an achilles? No. This time two years ago before we had invested in two young shooting guards? Yes.
I think he'd be perfect with the Raptors anyway.
I like We$ a lot more for you than I do Rondo or Monta - you need a floor spacer, not another ball-dominant shot creator.

Say you sign Wes - that gives you the ability to go small - Collison/McLemore/We$/Rudy/Boogie - or big - Collison/We$/Rudy/WCS/Boogie.

Either way you have at least two or three competent shooters on the floor at all times.

The other factor is that you have three core guys locked in at 2014 prices for the immediate future - Boogie's a steal at his price. You can afford to overpay for someone like We$, although I wouldn't be as bullish about Rondo. In fact I'd wager Boogie's the entire reason that you're doing this - playoffs or bust.

I don't think those pick swaps will ever eventuate either - it's a top-10 protected pick you're paying, a bit like how the Dubs gave Utah two firsts in order to clear room to sign Iggy. You need to make sure you sign an Iggy - to me that's Wes Matthews.

I am, I never rated him that highly out of college. I have yet to see anything in the NBA to change my mind. Of course if all of a sudden he starts shooting lights out then i'll be happy to change my opinion of him.

The big overseeing problem as I see it is that we're not the Warriors (and Wes isn't Iggy, plus his unfortunate injury). What are we exactly aiming for?
Undre Malone I could see what we were building towards and with who. I'm clueless right now.
If it's all for an improbable 8th seed in a desperate attempt to keep Boogie on board then we'll be right back where we are now within a couple of years.
I just don't see it.
Believe me if we sign Rondo or Eliis or even both I can see the talent that is obvious to blind freddy but it would be an absolute mess with no long term direction. And as a fan of Sacramento the overriding thing that was needed was direction. Being aggressive is one thing but this just looks like a mistake.

I dont overly rate Stauskas either

But that trade is highway robbery

You can justify it if you are the Warriors trading first rounders to sign Iggy and swing for a title, but the Kings?

I consider him having gone to a shambles of a franchise, so what changes?
Philly are fine, they're collecting some very good assets and they've got some very good building blocks for the future in Noel/Okafor and Embiid if he gets healthy.

Saric is something else they have up there sleeve when he comes over.

If the Lakers don't get a top 3 pick next then Philly also has that coming to them as well.

Hinkie is doing fine IMO.

And what about their fans? They are taking the piss out of them.

Expecting them to pay good money to go watch D-League standard basketball at times.

Its one thing to suck and get top draft pick after draft pick, but you need to build a winning culture as you go along or all of the players you draft along the way will jump ship the first chance they get.

Nah.

You realise they were told to drop the jerseys by a guy off camera right?

They got what they wanted in Okafor and they'll build around him with Noel and Embiid (if healthy), Philly have got assets to make good moves to improve when they want which I think will be this year.
