Blazers maybe, relies on Lillard being super human all season. Similar with the Rockets and Harden.

Clips should be good - they just never seem to be though. They're frustrating to watch!
We are a really deep team though this season. Probably lack a consistent third scorer although we have a lot of good 4-5th options. Our D will be the issue. Wont lose many home games

Crazy that GSW got blown out. Spurs gonna Spurs though.
Gonna take time for them to settle. They were a 73-9 team last season so already were a ridiculously strong team, they've added Durant, so automatically everyone thinks they should be unstoppable but they'll lose more games than last season.

They won't be a strong defensive team this year, will have to rely on their stars hitting shots, when they get hot no one will be able to stop them.

Fantastic first game from my Spurs though, incredible, Kawhi looks like he could take that next step offensively now.

My mate/colleague at work who went for the same role as me was reprimanded by our boss the other day (in private, in the meeting room), cos the stinky girl in my team was scared to ask him questions cos of how he responds etc.

I would think that is quite a detrimental thing, but he is the golden child, so I am not sure how much it hurts his chances.

Haha you can admit you're really hoping you get the role mate. :D You keep mentioning it and bringing it up but then saying you don't care haha.

Being an old fart finally going to pay off? :D

Btw, being 'only 20' doesn't mean someone can't be leadership ready. I had a team of 4 at the age of 20.

Scary topic popped up at work today: the automation of work across all industries and where we'll be in 20 years. I just don't know how we deal with employment and ensure there are still enough income generating jobs for people.

Really depends on the industry, doesn't it?

I'm not big on worrying about things I can't control so it doesn't concern me per se. There are some industries I'm glad I don't work in though.

Well isn't skilling yourself to survive any potential efficiencies businesses bring through something you can control? :p

Man, I really need to get back into the swing with the other sports, I have no idea what's going on with me.

Still, start of the NBA season, for real, since we're playing the first game today. Had a good run against Portland, but now they're catching up.

So you're not worried about something you can control but can't be bothered doing anything about. :p
Well I don't expect what you described will ever be a problem in my industry. Could always be wrong of course haha

Yeah, streamlining of services that reduce the need for staffing.
It's possible. There are a lot of tangible aspects of the role that technology won't likely be able to do in my lifetime.

But again, who would know.
