This. "I'm checking my emails"........."call me if you need anything "

Yeah, after I wake up at 11 lol
Bludger. I get up at 8:59. Get online on the system straight away. Attend to anything urgent (half the time it's not) then back to bed for an hour or two. Then see what I've missed before watching some tv and making some lunch

The key is to send the token email or two first thing in the morning.

I then tell my team that I'm in meetings for a few hours and divert my phone to one of them. Token reply or call back to a few emails later in the afternoon and I'll call it a day.

The best is saying you're working on a file you've already finished but haven't told people you've finished

Doesn't everyone get 5 days a year by law?
I know we get 10 days. They just don't like us knowing how many we have because people take sickies if they know for sure they'll get paid.

You could technically work it out but who can be bothered haha

Really? We have it in the same place as our total remaining annual leave. Would be helpful to know if you were genuinely ill but had no leave left.
It's the case for us. Stops people taking sickies when they know they have them. I know several companies that do although also ones that don't haha

Yeah I had to in February because I hadn't accrued enough sick leave. Only had to use an hour lol.
Do they keep that close an eye?

My work is casual with that - I work back when necessary but I also get to go to the dentist/mechanic/physio etc and don't lodge any of it.
